You've got to be careful. Some have gone on Ebay for less than £1500 quid but they can hide a multitude of sins. I bought one with a crappy body but only 2600 miles since 1956. They were maintained up to about 2002 but then many have been left to rot. Mine was warranted mechanically sound by someone I trust but even then I currently don't know whether it can cruise on Unleaded or LPG because the exhaust valves are so soft. It's going to be a big learning curve. I've broken three open ended spanners this week that I've been using for 20 years. Half the b@st@rd nuts and bolts are AF and the rest are ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) It's fun though ;D

It's an old Ford COE truck. Has it had a roof chop? Looks mean as.

She's now a demi-goddess ;D I've had the these spanners 20 years and it took the lousy rusted to hell nuts and bolts on the Goddess to break them ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0220.jpg) A few shots underneath...... Gearbox and front axle ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0221.jpg) Transfer box - shaft from gearbox in, shafts to front axle and rear axle and power take-off to pump ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0222.jpg) Front axle and typical weep on tyre from front axle ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0223.jpg) Transfer box to back axle and PTO to pump ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0224.jpg) Another transfer box pic - why? ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0225.jpg)

The start of the day and just clearing up the remains of the top-notch lino roof covering. Side view ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0227.jpg) Rear view ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0228.jpg) About two hours later with grazed knuckles, a bloody nose (don't ask), bruised kneecap and some extra special cursing ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0229.jpg) You can start to get the sense of what it might look like now ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0230.jpg)

Having a quick look around the cab while on a break I discovered that you can check the oil from the driver's seat ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0231.jpg) I also thought I'd better expain the heating and ventilation system ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Too hot? Open driver's windscreen ;D ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0232.jpg) Too cold? Adjust opening of engine cover ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0233.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0234.jpg) Then I wondered how the points could be adjusted as the dizzy is very high up on the engine and I noticed this removable metal plate ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0235.jpg) and there it is the distributor ;D ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0236.jpg)

End of the day From behind ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0240.jpg) Side left to do ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0241.jpg) I had hoped that the closer I got to the cab that the wood would be getting better- no such luck ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0242.jpg) Near side is perfect though - Goodwood ;D ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0243.jpg) ....and finally for this week how can you start a 5 litre engine effortlessly off this army surplus lamp battery? ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y39/kev_the_mole/Goddess/DSCF0244.jpg) ....easy with only 6: 1 compression ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

They bl00dy well shouldn't ;D That's fantastic! ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) It will be a bit longer for the beaver-tail and I'm playing around with a possible fibreglass roof with actual corner curves but your picture has really helped with the visualisation. Cheers, Ian

Progress, yay! Someone should take Photoshop off me. ![](http://i845.photobucket.com/albums/ab16/volksangyl/frankenhealyracing.jpg) That does look good! Cheers, Ian Is the AH narrow enough & to be enclosed by the bodysides? If so, imho it would be good to keep more of the Green Goddess silhouette, as this would echo the style of the Ecurie Ecosse Commer.
