Hi all - Not sure whether you've seen this, but Wolfrace is 40 years old soon, and are running a competition to vote for which wheel to remanufacture. If they get enough votes, they will bring back the slotmag. Vote here... www.wolfrace.co.uk/vote/You can vote once every 24 hours Cheers, Mike.

someone came on here a while ago and said they'd seen old stock unsold slot mags at Wolfrace...
They may not need to remake them...
The problem comes that everyone says they want them remade, then will baulk at paying £400 or whatever for a set when they can get a used set off ebay for a ton.
Several companies already make slot mags. Several of them never seemed to actually stop making them (although it may have been old stock they were advertising)
I will of course go vote for the slot mag!

I tried to get some new slot mags for my van from Wheeltech in the states. After waiting for nearly three months, I then got told the 10x15's still weren't available and they couldn't even give me a lead time on them. If Wolfrace had them i'd have bought them but I never checked. Irrelevant now anyway as I bought some new Keystones instead but I would have happily stumped up a grand for a set of new ones.
Somehow, i doubt if they start re-making them they will come in all the original sizes. can't see there being much demand for them TBH.

I can't imagine they will retool. They'll bang them out as they were back in the day from the old dies, or they'll just sell of the old stock.
I remember both those other Wolfrace wheels mentioned, as will others, 90s look, and nostalgia being what you make of it, could see some votes for them from the hot hatch brigade

A lot of the reason slots sold so well back in the day is there wasn't all that much else to choose from. Now the market is flooded with wheels in thousand of different designs. What's the betting if they bring them back it'll be the nasty FWD ones.

Slotmags for me, if i could get some to fit the alfa they would be on my car. I reckon the voodoo will win though, it just suits more "modern" cars so they could sell LOTS again.
|
|
I have an idea for a unique alfa. . . . and i think it might just work.

I'll bet Wolfie ends up making them in all sorts of custom offsets, and they'll be reasonably priced. Why all the gloom? Be happy! It's 4th of July weekend!
