Well got offered this the other day... ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/chris_24/mynewbike.jpg) Went all the way to saltcoats for it via carlisle for a remote controled submarine, 469 mile round trip Upon getting the bike home discoverd the headers are blowing their nuts off the rear break don't work rear disk is cracked and looks like stevie wonder has attempted to paint and fiberglass the fairings ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/chris_24/HPIM0559.jpg) ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/chris_24/HPIM0558.jpg) ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/chris_24/HPIM0557.jpg) SO after an hour of thinking what am I goin to do with this and a quick phone call to my mate... The strip down began ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/chris_24/HPIM0560.jpg) A cup of tea later (after all you cant do any sort of mechanical work without a cuppa) ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/chris_24/HPIM0562.jpg) Even the axel stands got to see the light of day ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/chris_24/HPIM0563.jpg) ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/chris_24/HPIM0564.jpg) So once we got this far we checkd the sprocket which again is goosed so the wheel had to come off ![](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/chris_24/HPIM0567.jpg) Thats as far as we have got tonight, full strip down clean up repaint up and see where to go from their.

I had an 89 one of these with a stage 3 dynajetting or something. I had to sell it in the end as I was going to kill myself on it. Was stupidly fast. I'm 18 stone and if i leaned on the handlbars to try to keep the front down it would wheelspin. Its scary doing wheelies and wheelspins at the same time lol. I remember on one track day i broke the speedo at 180mph. Really miss it, but I wasnt really a very good rider and it was a serious piece of kit.

Iv'e only had it round the block and in all honestly I'm only 11 stone wet through and the front end wants to lift constantly, The lad I got it off said its been rebored to 1125cc but have no way of proveing this either way its still going to be quite an animal ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Only downside is i left the end can by the back door for about 10 mins and some traveller has come and helpend themselves to it so need to sorce one of them a set of headers and also a set of rear farings

Unfortunately I blew the engine on mine, too many clutched up wheelies ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) and the clutch basket exploded, taking out the bottom of the engine. The bike is still on the road, but that paintjob has long gone due to the next owner throwing it up the road. I loved the bike and it was one of the most stable bikes with good handling that I have owned, and I have had 2 blades, an R1, RSV Mille R, ZX6 and Triumph Daytona 955i. Still hold a soft spot for that one tho. Enjoy Chris.

exup valves, 10 years of other manufacture's bashing the idea that it works then as soon as the patent runs out they all use a variant of the exup valve on their own bikes.

Unfortunatly the previous owner sent it up the road and mate a right mess of the fairings so the easyest option is to just respray them, Also theirs a few round my way that are blue and yellow and i have to be abit different lol ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
