looks lovely, shame its not a V8 though, they are bloody heavy cars for a small engine, i'd love to "do" an SLC.

pervert Cool car, looks well on those rims and with the dark paint. I'm not well up on Mercs, excuse my ignorance but what exactly has been done to this?

Could be a datsun engine, the Merc I6 should be a twin cam i think, seems a bit strange to swop them over as the merc engines are pretty good, but then parts for a datsun engine would be more easily available and tuning much cheaper in japan, and the merc lump could have died.

280 merc lump would have been 180bhp so the Z one must be chucking out more to make the swop worthwhile, i reckon this was bought cheap and broken and put together from what was readily to hand, which makes it more interesting, anyone starting one with a specific plan for more power would just start with a 5 litre V8 i reckon.

Goes to show that the right formula can work on any car!
