I has a similar idea for a MK1 RAV4.
Slam, 2WD it, install a Celica GT-Four turbo lump.

A standard front end and a better colour and it'd be ace.

i bet thats fun, swb and a big heavy 200bhp lump in the front, rock on! My mate just got given an open top Vitara mot fail due to some minor chassis rot at the back. i'll show him that.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

I am LOVING that!! As said above, could do with a stock front end and maybe a different colour, but that's brilliant slightly-out-of-the-box thinking.

I like the front bumper. Just needs some 18x9 rota grids to fill those arches!

Spotted this on Driftworks (as I suspect RTLKY has too...), the guy is a bit of a mentalist. He's done this conversion of a cosworth lump in to a J-softroader, and is currently undertaking a skyline 6-pot transplant into an ex-rally Escort Cos shell. Back to front and front to back ;D
That said, I'd love a thrash about in this.

Back to front and front to back A Vitara isn't really a softroader, it's got a full separate chassis with live axles and proper 4x4 with a low-range transfer case, and they're very capable off-road. I wonder what he did at the front end? Does it still have the front diff with just the driveshaft disconnected? A very good idea anyway, and one I'd love to try. Mine would be completely stock on the outside though, for the ultimate sleeper surprise when you blow someone's doors off!

That is true My mate recently bought a lwb one thats been jacked up and running off road tyres and its quite good offroad 4wd with low range box and locking front diff.

It says in the ad he has converted it to run 2wd only, I'm guessing the front prop and t box has been removed.
