Looks awesome, but how did he get past scrutineering with the rear wheel shaped like a 50p piece.

I've been to Marham 9 times on the trot & i've never been scrutineered yet!! ;D A couple of the ABS members had passenger rides in that Cobra, apparently it was an awesome thing to ride in. I wish i didn't get so ill when i'm a passenger on track, because there's a lot of cars i would love to travel in!!

There should be more Cobras like this, they really weren't designed to be polished to within an inch of their lives with underbonnet mirrors and shiny bits. Rough, ready, and retardedly quick is the name of the game

I have a huge fondness for Cobra's anyway but when they look this purposefull how could you not hanker for something like that? Thanks for posting.

If you saw that in your rear view mirror, you'd move out the way as soon as possible before it chewed your off !

A friends father has a 5.7l chevy engined cobra rep tucked away in his garage. It cant do more than about 500 miles a year and never gets driven hard. To be fair to him, he's put thousands of hours into making it a show winner, but i just cant understand all that power going to waste! I love the race-patina'd look, sort of aiming for it with the Locost

That Cobra was great. It wasn't massively fast (the Renault was staying with it without too much difficulty) but it looked and sounded awesome - I would have loved a ride in it too. I followed it fairly closely for about half a lap, and despite the wonky back wheel it didn't seem to be wobbling at all (unlike the Caterham 7 which was squirming around all over the place until the back suspension fell off mid-afternoon). I'd say it was my second favourite car of the day after the Gordon-Keeble.

I wonder when the pics were taken, as it was a long time over at mr e-tyres.com with that one wheel off.... I have some pics of it, I'll grab some in a bit. I can tell you it has hi-spec brakes all round, toyo t1r's and a warmed over rover under it

we've got a real 427 in at the moment that has gone for paint as the front part of the rear arches are peppered in stone chips. and once it comes back i've got to remove the wheels so I can power wash off the suspension as it's caked in dirt. it gets used ;D I rebuilt the engine a while ago. a 427 side oiler bored and stroked to 7.5 litres. it has got to be one of the quickest cars i've driven (i do get to drive some seriously quick machines ). amazingly it can be floored in first from about 10 mph and not spin the wheels. it does about 70 in first gear after only a few seconds. takes your breath away litrally it dynoed at just under 500bhp at 5000rpm (the tester didn't take the revs higher, I think it scared him ;D) but such an easy car to drive slowly if required. i've got some photos on my other computer which i'll dig out later.
