I had a similar experience. I bought a car from a guy and we met at Gatwick airport inside the MaccyD's car park, so I drove up in my E30. Waited for the guy, had a bite to eat and took the new car on a test drive. A few weeks later I got an £80 fine through the mail for staying too long, and a lovely mug shot of the E30! I hadn't even realised there were timing restrictions or that camera car park technology was able to fine me as such, lesson learned!

My first set of points was for driving down a bus lane. I was an Estate Agent at the time as well. The horror of both of these crimes still haunts me but I am slowly being rehabilitated! Just be glad you didn't have to go to court as well - stating 'if I'd known it would cause such bother, I wouln't have done it in the 1st place' didn't seem to go down so well with the magistrates! Cheers for the MX pics though. We've decided the 2fster household needs another one this summer.

Well I for one will no longer be reading your threads. Stopping in bus stops is what the terrorists want you to do. Zack Hughes Photography ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

You don't get very good quality pics for 60 quid! You should complain.

I had a congestion charge fine the other day, and a road tax fine, trying to get out of them, lets see how epic my failures are.

I'm glad you're ashamed, you should be banged up with Ian Huntley and the rest of them. You are a danger to society.

For road taxes, don't you pay that at the pump? Yep..... at a rate of around $6 a gallon AND if your car was manufactured after 31st December 1972 you ALSO pay anything up to 600 bucks a year just to use the roads! Good 'ere innit!! ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

Lesson learned: if you're dropping a mate off at Clapham Junction, don't pull into a bus stop - 45 seconds will get you a £60 fine. And if you try to dispute it, they'll send you damning photo evidence to make you feel, quite rightly, like the awful sinner you are. Watch out at the back of the station too (Grant Road?) - there's CCTV there for this as well.

I managed to get off a parking fine by writing to the city council and stating that the car had broken down and I had gone to get help. It worked too

According to an article I read recently (and now can't find), Wandsworth Council have spent more money on CCTV than any other council in the country. Makes me feel enormously safe.
