I have a live rear axle, am I right in thinking this makes camber impossible to get on the of my Laurel? Pretty much. Ive looked into it and the only way is to get your axle bent (I think NASCAR do it). Its pretty permanent. I actually achieved this with my 260C lowrider by accident with the first juice install. The rams were attached to the axle about halfway between the diff and the hubs, It didn't take ling for it to bend the axle. First time I noticed the camber from the rear I thought I was imagining it until I got the tape measure out. Damn, should have kept that axle, I could probably have sold it now ;D

Driveshafts made completly from cv's?!?! Lol guessing 3 cv's per driveshaft with the driveshafts cut in half and a cv half way along with the inner half of the drive shaft supported on a bearing??? So the driveshaft curves upwards?? That's how they achieve extreme driveshaft angles on monster trucks, I seem to remember reading in my favourite monster truck book when I was about 8 ;D Keep adding them until it's like one of those screwdriver flexy-drives ;D

Now, I'm reasonably well known for being a potty mouth but I can (mostly) find better terms of expression for the written/typed word. (and, yes, I am well aware I said 'curse word¡ng' just a few posts up - but sometimes its the best form of expressing a feeling) That threads a bit knuckle-dragger

you guys are so behind the times, positive camber is the next big thing yo!
I have some good camber pics, both +'ve and -'ve, but alas they are on my old broken hard-drive - I shall have some tea, and apply the google-fu

hmmm, you know I was thinking of extending the wishbones on the wartburg the other week again to get rid of its positive camber. if I went that far I could get some dishy wheels too ;D I like the sillyness of it, not something I would do in many ways, I guess I'm a bit more "performance" orientated. but i might for a laugh.... Cv joints will work fine to about 60degrees of axis in case anyone was wondering you could use two back-to-back like a wartburg does on the outer but it isn't really nessecary. unless you planned on doing it to an FWD car that is. you can camber a live axle by tapering the halfshaft cases and bevelling the splines on the shafts themselves, thats how nascar do it I beleive. AE86ers do it by heating and bending the case, its mostly OK to about 2degrees.

Its pretty permanent. a decent axle builder who handles competition cars should be able to handle adding camber to a live axle, its done quite often on Escorts, you wont get "extreme camber to the max doooood" though, even if they could do it i doubt a proffesional would risk it.

I wondered what was wrong with this forum.... I couldnt put my finger on it before now but I think its why I don't post on here very often. but despite all the cool cars and the skills of some people on here are really amazing. but it is a really boring forum tbh. this "if you don't like something don't post" is the most stupid rule ever. peoples diffence of opinion and freedom of speech is what makes a community a community. you read different threads, people say how great this and that is..... different people tho on different threads. kinda like everyone forcibly likes everything. its like being in a room full of fake smiles. its dull!!!!! Nail, head! I don't come on here much cos of that. It's like a forum full of peop's saying what they think they should say, not what they think. Sheep! haha I have nothing to say about camber

HAHAHAH The Keyboard Commando's are out again!!
don't like then don't post, if you continue to not like the thread/topics then move to another forum.
The MO rules always cause an issue every few months, who cares if you don't agree with them. 99.9% of the topics/threads are excellent on this forum so just bite your tongue and look past things you don't agree with.

and I thought HAMB could be bad - not sure if it's worth facing the wrath of the network monitoring geeks to keep checking in..... and evenings are GARAGE TIME BUOYYYYY ;D Seriously fellas - all take a chill pill, no-one needs to rise to the typical bait that is thrown out there (by either 'side') and we'll all avoid the coronarys' It's a major piece of engineering and no-one should give a rats ass why - but be more interested in the HOW THE F*** - IMHO. Build/Drive line photo's will make me sleep again at night...... PEACE OUT - John

Can nobody else see the irony of people whining about not being allowed to make negative comments, on a thread that has been ruined by people's sh*tty negative comments?! Or the irony of people responding to those whiny posts when the 'MO' say's if you don't like it then keep schtum.... I don't want to wind it up any more, I just thought it was funny.... ... back to posting up sexy cars from around the globe

I have lurked on this forum for years. I only registered a while back and havent posted a huge amount but even to a relative newb like me, it seems this place is changing and getting a little 'clicky' - a real shame anyway - mad camber - not a huge fan but would deffo take a 2nd look if I saw that rolling down the street!! i'm far too tight to roll like that - I want maximum life from tyres/suspension but in any event - I get 'it'

C'mon guys, it's someones project or a vision realised. If it was the new Astra from Vauxhall I'd understand the harsh words but let's remember it's someone doing their own thing just like we all do on RR It's great to see something with such wild camber in motion, I wouldn't have believed it was anything more than a static display unless I'd seen the video!! Brilliant, I love it. Would love to see some build threads on these wild camber cars, it must take some serious work to achieve it and regardless of why it's an engineering achievement. Can't wait to get about half that camber on one of my builds in the future

Hey, whoever asked in jest earlier in the thread about larger dia outside dimensions on tires, IOW, "cambered tires"?
I meant to reply yesterday, that there are such things as cambered tires, for the serious autox competitor. And skilled tire grinders have been doing them trackside for oval trackers for decades and decades.
Cambered tires, they been around hand-made for decades, and now available factory-produced on special order from your race tire vendor.
