Sorry dad, thought it was freedom of speech? It amazes me that some long-standing members STILL haven't read the Retro Rides Modus Operandi"2) If you haven't got something constructive to say, say nothing Sure this is stifling your freedom of expression, however I'm not interested in cars you don't like, I'm interested in cars you do. Conducting oneself in a positive manner will result in positivity."TBH, I'm starting to get sick of this place, why post the vid if you don't want peoples opinions??? Don't worry, I'm sure this will get "de spammed" rant over.

no. they build the cars to create a response. you responded to it with horror. they won. THAT is the point. Nope... that ain't the point... I responded with bemusement...... as in...... what's the point? Personally I don't give a f*** . Why should I?

A kiwi told me they say "fush and chups" whereas Aussies say "feesh and cheeps". Exactly. The difference is all in the vowels.

Like I said.... what's the point? To me is like a desperate attempt to make a mundane car exciting. Maybe I'm the only one on here..... I dunno! So your question is why bother to make a mundane car interesting? I think you may or may not have ENTIRELY missed the point of car modification.. Hey Tri..... I said it was a 'desperate' attempt to make a mundane car exciting. That don't mean to say it was a successful attempt. ;D

I was hoping someone would explain just what it's all about.... don't think that's being negative. Tryin' to be positive.... wouldn't it be easier and aesthetically more appealing to widen the arches ? At least that way you could fit bigger wheels under & improve the handling and not have to replace the ball joints every 2000 miles. FWIW I don't think that's being negative either, but: Yes it would be easier and probably more aesthetically pleasing to fit wider arches. I like wider arches. But doing it the easy way would definitely be missing the point. I guess you'd just consider ball joints and CV joints as consumables. Same as if you make your car faster you accept that you'll wear tyres and brakes more and get through more fuel. It is extremity for extremity's sake, which may or may not be a good thing depending on your opinion, pushing it a little bit further than the guy before. Same thing that leads to absurd Boso exhausts, same thing that leads to Donks rolling on bigger and bigger wheels, same thing that leads to people fitting stereos that will pop your windows out. Personally I am also not a fan of many of those things, but as you asked, that's the point I'd love to see a photo of the suspension set-up.

Found some photos, none of the suspension setup yet but I'm intrigued. I think it looks cool. Pure and simple, it's all a matter of opinion and taste www.7tune.com/oni-camber/

if I saw it at a show id walk past thinking "why bother." and I don't agree with the rule of no negativity on things like this. otherwise every fool reading this will be driving round with wedges jammed under the stub axle bolts on their polos thinking they look cool. its a marmite thing and I'm afraid I'm one of the ones that hate it. If that's your viewpoint, then this forum is not for you I'm afraid. If you can't bide by the rules, there's really no point you coming here. Neither you, or the people who reading your negative posts, enjoy it.

Tryin' to be positive.... wouldn't it be easier and aesthetically more appealing to widen the arches ? At least that way you could fit bigger wheels under & improve the handling and not have to replace the ball joints every 2000 miles. Again, you've missed the point entirely! Historically, in the VIP scene, camber was used to get wider wheels under stock arches. It's seen as doing things the non-conventional way. Rebellion, if you will. Anyone can make a car fit the wheels, the real showoffs make the wheel fit the car. So, over the years, camber becomes more extreme to fit even wider wheels inside the stock arches. Until, one day, someone decides to make a parody of this modification, and that is what you see in front of you. That's what it is, showing off. It's not done for handling. It's not done for safety. It's done for the sake of doing it. Not doubt there is a modicom of engineering, but the guy won't care if he has to replace the suspension components every 3000 miles. I'd be surprised if it even drives 300 miles a year in that format. In all likelihood, he fits some less aggressive fitment wheels when he gets home, reduces the camber and rolls it as his daily.

just thought id add this quote from vip from an earlier (locked) thread: THIS FORUM R NOT BARRYBOYS!!! You don't like something, move along and find something you DO like, don't post it here with a "Look everyone, let's laugh at the fat kid" kind of approach. That is NOT what this forum is about. Sure, some folks don't have the same taste, style, eye for detail, or even common sense as we do, but dragging it kicking and screaming onto here is neither big nor clever. O/P and those that perpetuated negatively... YOU FAIL! and: It's not MY opinion, it's the opinion of the folks who know and understand the forum. I've read the Modus Operandi, I've been to shows and meetings and hung out with other forum members at length, I'm friends with the site owner and the mods, and during these chats and conversations, I know that our opinions align on what this forum is, and isn't, about. Now forgive me for trying to educate other members into this same way of thinking, but I happen to like it here, and don't want the forum to continue to fill up with dirge threads and negative opinions that dilute the content that once made this forum great. vip, yip or panchetta or whatever your username is this week - you need to calm down, stop posting these dirge threads, stop sucking up to hotwire and 'the other mods" and go away and start your own forum, the members of this forum don't need you to be an unofficial moderator, and constantly telling other members what they should think, and when they should comment or not comment on something.
there is a phrase involving sex and death that describes you perfectly
as for the camber, my opinion is: it looks silly, its not very good for tyres, suspension components or bushes. and mostly belongs on barryboys or a breakers yard.
as its my opinion, I don't need a post from you VIPer-tongue, to tell me how wrong I am. also just noticed VIP has made 3,166 posts, in less than 2 months

You have a problem with the content of this thread. You don't like members of this forum taking an active intertesting in making it the best it can be. You don't really contribute that much to this forum apart from moaning and posting negativity. I think it's pretty clear from that that who needs to go "sex and death" and find another forum.
