CV boot changed, MOT booked for thursday next week ;D, just got to look at the seat belt locking mechanism, was given a good tip last night, if the inertia doesn't lock the seatbelt, it is due to the rubber grommet being worn, so a thin layer of araldite on the top of the grommet replaces the worn area and they will worn as they should. I will give this a try later, just having a bite to eat and I will let you know how it goes. Wiper arms rubbed and primed, just waiting for the satin black to arrive then they can be sprayed and refitted, everything is looking good at the moment, but fingers crossed for thursday.
Cheers,
Stu.

£600 all in!?! Thats brilliant! It'll cost me that again to polish the paint work up ;D Can't complain, if it goes through the mot it's cheap motoring. Cheers, Stu.

Hi All, The mustang has failed the MOT It failed on the rear brakes, the hand brake works ok, but nothing off the pedal, so it appears that the master cylinders are siezed, should get a good look tomorrow afternoon. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Cheers, Stu.

Rear cylinders here $6.55 each, $42.89 for the entire new master cylinder for up front, could ask about, might be able to get better on my trade account at the local motor factors.
Shipping'd probably be about thirty, forty bucks for all three in a box. Divide everything by 1.45 for Pounds Sterling.
Worst-case scenario for if those aren't stock Ford items over there- probably find they are Granada or Sierra ones lol

Hi Phil,
I found front ones on e-bay over here, and they look the same could you confirm for me they are? The Sierra ones are slightly different, not seen the granada ones yet. Thanks for your help, I will pm you if I need these.
Cheers,
Stu.

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the info for the cylinders, I have found a place near Norwich that deals with American cars, I have a pair on order they should be here Tuesday ;D then I will pull the drums off and fit the new ones with a healthy dose of new brake fluid. If I remember I will get some pictures of the brake cylinder change Cheers, Stu.

Ordered a set of brake wheel cylinders yesterday at around half 2 and they turned up this morning, fabulous service from Ultimate Spares of America in Wymondham near Norwich. So tomorrow I will be fitting them and making sure everything is good and I can then book it in again for the end of the week Cheers, Stu.

Update, I used a quick tip that I picked up from Wheeler Dealers , before I removed the calipers I clamped the brake flexi pipe with mole grips to ensure the fluid loss was minimal. I then removed the brake cylinders 1 at a time fitted the new ones. When both sides were done I removed the clamp on the brake line and pumped the brakes until they went hard, cracked the bleed nipples whilst the wife kept her foot on the brakes. This bled the system really quickly, then I started the engine and pumped the brakes again whilst rotating the wheels, all was good, so I took it for a quick run up and down the road. Just got to re-book the MOT and hopefully all will be ok ;D Cheers, Stu.

ive always used W.A.S.P in wisbeach for my yankie spares as when I had my Chevy Beretta I phoned round for prices and was quoted silly prices such as £60+ and the supplier wasnt even going to come round and fit them. called wasp and they said £15 i had to ask then to repeat as i couldnt believe my ears and they were shocked as well.

Andy,
I totally forgot about them, I believe they advertise in Custom Car aswell.
Car is now booked in for tomorrow for the re-test, everything is good as far as I can tell, all the small problems have been eradicated (Oooohh hark at me ;D) so I have no worries why she shouldn't pass.
Cheers,
Stu.

Just a thought re the inertia seat belts, on a lot of american stuff esp 80's the intertia reel only locks when the car is braking, i thought my camaro seatbelts were broken till i read the handbook and sure enough whilst you're braking hard the seatblets lock up fine..
worth a look before you start ripping them apart
