Hi All, Went and picked this up yesterday for the princley sum of £150, just had a full head rebuild and has a brand new roof on it. Everything is electric roof, windows, cruise control, etc. It's a runner, just needs a windscreen and some new tyres. It doesn't come with the wheels shown, but standard ford wheels fitment. This is the car that I am going to use for the Help for Heroes banger run in August. It just needs a winscreen, tyres and a good clean up, maybe the odd bulb for the mot, everything is totally solid. I will get some more photos as it comes along, the photos were unashamedly bicked from the for sale advert. ;D ![](http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n118/1960100e/1987%20Mustang%20Converable/mustang1.jpg) ![](http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n118/1960100e/1987%20Mustang%20Converable/mustang2.jpg) ![](http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n118/1960100e/1987%20Mustang%20Converable/mustang3.jpg) ![](http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n118/1960100e/1987%20Mustang%20Converable/mustang4.jpg) ![](http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n118/1960100e/1987%20Mustang%20Converable/mustang5.jpg) Cheers, Stu.

Currently driving a Renault Wind Gordini as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

How did you end up paying night on the town money for that ?? Awesome catch. Right place, right time I suppose, I was originally advertised for £250. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) It just sort of happened, but no real bartering went on either. Cheers, Stu.

Cracking bargain, worth every single penny of that price, manual or slush-o-matic?
I really like these, it's just a shame the 4 pot isn't that much better on fuel than the V8! still a good old slugger, I'd whack a cambelt on it just to be sure though...
are you gonna keep it after the banger run? if not I'd be interested..

Hi Mate, it's a 5 speed manual, one of the attractions for me. We are going to give it a service with belts, plugs, oil, filters before we leave, just to be sure. The banger run isn't until August so loads of time, just the right car at the right price. If it gets us to Monaco and all is good, we are even thinking of driving it back. If it comes back we may sell it. It's a bit too far in the future to decide that yet, a lot can happen between now and then, ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Cheers, Stu.

Depends if it's a turbo or n/a version, really. 87 onwards had fuel injection and a little more hp as well. I had both a 79 and 86 on carbs and 4 speed, they would return 30mpg on mixed driving. Unfortunately they are only 88hp. They actually make very nice daily drivers. Reliable as anything, and comfortable. Is it not a chain on the 2.3 lump? The lima engine runs a belt. It's very similar to the Pinto. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) We are going to give it a service with belts, plugs, oil, filters before we leave, just to be sure. Not sure if you are aware of thism, but these engines eat their cams on part synthetic/fully synthetic oil. Only use good stuff like castrol 10/40 mineral etc. Other than that they're relatively problem free. (well, the later carbs like to unscrew the bolts joining them, but I'm guessing yours is efi? If it gets us to Monaco and all is good, we are even thinking of driving it back. If it comes back we may sell it. Cheers, Stu. Please don't leave it in monaco? I'd quite like another one of these. Haven't had a cab yet. ;D Congrats on an absolute bargain!

Hi All,
Done few little bits, knocked the dent out the rear, no a perfect job, but looks better, gave it a wash to get rid of the green slime that had a accumulated over the drivers side. Going to give it a bloody good T-cut at the weekend then I will get some more pictures. New battery on the way, mondeo steels to replace the rolling wheels that came with it, getting the guys at work to open up the centre bores on the wheels so the fit better, may give them a good clean and paint them silver not sure yet. More progress to come over the following weeks. ;D
Cheers,
Stu.
