The Dolly Sprint has been sold but just picked up the new ride yesterday, and had a nice drive back last night. Loving the new car, few little niggles to sort out, but nothing major / expensive. Its a 'Premium' special edition, that aparently there were only 400 made, and the only ones up until 1981 that came in black with either gold or silver stripes. They also came with the Tan / Cheque interior that was pioneered for the convertible model, as well as the full length sun roof. Will post some pics up later.

Beauty! If Smokey And The Bandit was set in Birmingham, the Bandit (played by Timothy Spall in the UK version) would drive this. Looking forward to seeing it at the Limes if you're gonna be there!

What a lovely car. Oh this brings back some stirring memories. A chap I worked with had a black one too. Poor bloke only had it a month before he died in a motorcycle racing accident. I know it spent a good few years sitting in a lock up until his wife was able to sell it on. Last time I saw it was around 1992.

Wow that is fabulous!
I've always had a soft spot for them! Must be because they were so slated!
What are they like to drive?

They are quite nice IMO, a little bouncy, but rides a lot better than the dolly sprint. I will be able to gauge the power difference when ive got the carbs set up properly, but it seems to pull a bit better, (from 20mph in 3rd for example). Feels a bit more special, as the dolly was an ok car with a cracking engine, this has an ok engine, but feels like a pint sized super car ;D

Great looking car. ;D I used to work for a company specialising in restoring these and even though I used to work on them all the time I still love them, which is rare for me! Tan interior is defininately the best!

Something great about Triumphs, isn't there Never really 'got' the TR7, always been tempted by one though. Looks a great example though and I love the colour scheme
