What an awesome weekend Great to meet everyone, such a super freindly atmosphere Endless cups of tea & burgers, plenty of alchohol & a red hot logburner to stand around, what more could you want? Looking forward to sleeping in a proper bed tonight though after the Mazda, more pillows requied for next time I think. Uber thanks to Bruce for making such a thing possible

thanks for everything from the Netherlands too! I had a great weekend. Think i'll be coming over again somewhere in the future. Was great to meet you guys, and nice to see you used the lift allready! Great to be part of this wonderfull bunch of guys! ;D One thing is, I drove 1300km this weekend, and almost got stuck 500 meter from my house, because of snow! I missed the 8 pm boat, and went for the 10pm one instead, wich means I was at home around 4am, KNACKERED (and still am now ). But what a weekend it was!

It was fapping brilliant ;D The usual thanks must go to Bruce for awesome hosting abilities and providing us with the space to play and work and socialise.. But I appear to have a bit of a thank you list this month since everyone got stuck in on my lights to the extent that at one point I was just overseeing other people working. It would appear that I owe Bryn (great to meet you properly, by the way ), Ryan (you as well), Colon, Bruce and Grunty a beer for helping get the stock lights in. And I know only 3 of us saw it, but seeing a real car/pond liner with wheels rise up on that ramp has to be the moment of the weekend for me. Was awesome to meet so many new people too ;D And an apology to Tim because I knocked a smidge of paint off the corner of the Car-B-Q. The 924 came off worse though

Hi Guys,
Sorry for not posting sooner. It was an awesome weekend and many thanks must go out to all who came along, who helped and who contributed.
I will be putting up a proper write-up & photos in due course (hopefully very soon) but there are a few family issues I'm currently dealing with....along with a huge dose of being shattered that means it won't be today and probably not tomorrow either.
Thank you all again for making it such a great weekend. As Ben said, the biggest highlight was seeing the ramp lift the Hustler....so many people, so much time, so much effort and so much goodwill has gone into that ramp that seeing it working really was something special for me. A true summary of everything that Area 52 stands for.
Bruce.

What a good weekend, eh? As ever a pleasure to meet some new people and talk cars ;D Bruce, I bow down to your motivational skills, top work mate and really great to finally see the place. Thanks for the kind words about my err... words. There will be a 'lock-up' feature appearing in Retrocars at some point, featuring the man himself and his thoughts, I've just got to climb inside his head and get them out now. I left before the ramp got properly going, but as I have a pretty healthy phobia of two post ramps and plaster of Paris, no bad thing. If you ever doing a plaster cast weekend I'm staying well clear I'll put one picture on here from those that I took, to hopefully tempt you into buying the magazine when it comes out and as a way of saying thanks to all those involved. Without people like you, we wouldn't have such an enjoyable hobby and I wouldn't be able to pay the bills One man and his tools

I'll set a scene for you...Bruce with SDS drill and hole saw in hand halfway up a stepladder cutting the hole for the burner flue. Phone rings. "Hello? Sorry, can't talk right now mate, I'm up against a wall with a massive tool in my hand" How I laughed...boys eh? We never grow up do we?! Bryn...if that's the quality of what can go up on here, then I'll barely be able to wait for the sound of that issue of retro cars falling through the letterbox. Essence of area52...captured for the win ;D Now if we could bottle that and add it to the official merchandise we'd be laughing. morgs

ben how come you wazzed the normal lights back on?? Because I prefer the look and wanted to clear any bits I wasn't sure of before I paint it. But that can be discussed in my readers rides thread rather than here. I totally forgot to mention the fact that Area52 had its furthest traveled visitor and youngest visitor in the same weekend. Record breaking stuff ;D

What a truely epic weekend! Right from the friday night chinese at Bruce's to the Micra rolling out of the gates on Sunday. I cant thank you enough Bruce for the hospitality shown, especially letting me kip over on friday night ;D I think by the last hour I could remember all the names but I would like to thank you all for making it a great weekend! Especially all the lads who helped to lower the micra. Anyway, pictures speak a thousand words and all that: Saturday morning, enjoying the sun, a cuppa and waiting for people to arrive Sandra enjoying the sun too. A few more turned up James and Paul giving Sandra a fondle Carpark looking a bit full ;D Ian playing mad scientist heat treating a woodruff key I made (till they found the proper one!) Then came Alan with the wood burner! YAY! Getting firewood ready Alan and Bryn getting to grips with a big stick And Ben lighting it Food time Mark making some cheesefilled chilli bread things Yum Bit more standing around Then the food was ready! After being watered and fed, it was time to work on some cars, 1st in was Bens Volvo. Chopping the lights off Alan never stopping Bruce has a go at attacking the volvo Soldering connections for the lights (Mark your a pro with that gun, you didnt burn me once ;D) A bit more chatting/drinking/eating and Bens was pushed out for the micra to come in Bryn stealing my front struts ;D Tea and spring compressors, what more could you want? Yey, less boaty! Thank you everyone for your help!!! By now it was getting pretty late so most of us retired to the snug for a cuppa and a read. Then came Sunday morning, After copious ammounts of Tea and bacon, A52 started to buzz with everyone running around to get the ramp working and the area tidied up for Bryn to do some magic. Then Ryan dropped by in this awsome ford! Ben finishing the wiring I made a little rocket from scrap Bryn working his magic, shame that Bruce was the only 1/2 decent model he could find in such short notice With only me Bruce and Ben left we decided to stick the hustler on the ramp We also tried to fry an egg on the wood burner, we failed, more wood and weld needed! Major long post but I took too many pictures! ;D The rest can be found on: s973.photobucket.com/albums/ae220/rtlkyuubi111/playday%2006/?start=0Cant wait for the next 1 I go to Bruce!

Looks like a corker, wish I could make it over for one of these, but life is being busy at the moment, one day. In the mean time, great to see the lift finally up and running, its come a long way since that day in October..... ....can't wait to read the report in RC soon, probably a bit early Bryn, but do you know what issue yet? Guessing a few months time ;D

Hope things are ok with you Bruce. I realise now I should have left it 24hours before I attempted to operate a computer! To try and make up for my shockingly bad post yesterday here are a couple of pics...

I was amazed how light those wheels are..
It does look like Bruce is going to come to kill us with a grinding disc though. Fortunately in my imagination, as it happens, he runs out of extension lead and starts cursing 'those pesky kids'
I think I need some sleep
