Ah the ramp... After Adrian did an expert job with the sparky bits it appeared that only the motor post was working, so after taking it apart it was found that a woodruff key was missing from the main motor driven shaft which stopped drive to the chain and the other post...Ryan made one up, when fitted together we found the other side still didn't work checking we found the same, the woodruff key missing... a bit of head scratching and fumbling around with the greasy shaft and the woodruff key appeared in all the muck ... it seems the main shafts moved in transit and the keys fell out, so we replaced the found one... Ian then fumbled around in the grease the motor side and found the other original key... so Ryans effort was wasted... it should all be okay now except for a bit of greasing and reassembly... twas a good day, good to meet a few new RRs... Good pics Phil and many thanks for the subaru bolts...

I managed to get over in the early afternoon & I brought the car-b-q with me on the back of the Micra as you can see from Spiny's photos & it was promply fired up & in 30 minutes I was head outdoor chef keeping all the workers & guests fed with hot dogs, burgers & bacon untill I had to leave to take my little girl back home as she was tired! Was hoping to get back over today to collect the car-b-q as i left it there yesterday as it was still red hot & being used to keep the troops from going hungry but ive been down Si's (black8driver) house this morning to help him load the Imp onto a trailer & dig out all the spares that were going with it in the sale as the new owner had sent a Transit van & trailer to collect it.......... Good to see the usual suspects & some new faces over as Area52 yesterday! Tim...,

well i just got back home and i am knackered, in a good way of course ;D ;D Thomas has missed his boat so he is aiming for the late one Ramp appears to be up and running ;D ;D Frenzied activity yesterday eve getting the chains hooked up and today was a little modding of a chain guide on the micro switch loads of grease refitting the side panels, cliping the power cable up and making a slot for it to keep it safely out of the way, 4 grown men were used as test weight and it all the way up ;D ;D. log burner was brought in from the initial burn outside while still hot and a chimney was fabricated while the smoke showed any leaks the burner went down well as it was cuddled by everyone manytimes over the night activities. It was stoked up at night and was still well going in the morning so i am well chuffed ;D ;D Today found 4 shelves added down the sides so we can rest cups to keep the tea hot Late today was a major tidy up so bryn could take some piccies of a bunch of tired looking blokes stood around chatting Amongst the many jobs that got done were Ryans micra is a tad lower, Bens lights are un modified, my bonnet now shuts and after a rewire I have back lights again All in all a blooming good weekend, but what would you expect from Area 52 ;D ;D ;D

Late today was a major tidy up so bryn could take some piccies of a bunch of tired looking blokes stood around chatting Hmm, that certainly sounds interesting; I reckon I'd pay about, ooh, £4.20 to see those pictures and perhaps read Bryn's impression of the place... ;D

So once again I managed just the single day in the company of the good folk down at area52. However, I was less than surprised to have had a great time from start to finish, and witnessed what must have been the biggest turnout since the start of all things Playday. Alot of jobs jobbed, ideas chatted through and meat consumed...good times. Thanks to Bruce once again for playing the hostess with the mostest card despite the family related issues that would have certainly been playing on his mind. Also to Brynn for allowing himself to be backed into a corner and forced to chat all things typed and snapped...you talk shop very well sir, and I'll be sure to take up your offer of advice as and when I start to get things together. A pain that I couldn't hang around to gather pointers as the day turned to night but I'm looking forward to seeing the fruit of your labours soon ;D No one who was down there escapes the thanks, but I'd be sure to miss someone off the list and I can't have any of you sulking, so ta chaps, I always come away from these things with more knowledge [great] and more ideas for projects [tempting yes, but not too great when I've two already] and even more faces to names. Can't wait to knock around some shows with you come the warmer months. So that's it really. No camera in hand over the weekend so limited to stealing everyone else's who post here. See you all soon...can't wait. morgs P.S Apologies to anyone who fell down the rrer trap I inadvertently created in the toilet. 16.5 stone on thin, sodden ply board made for an interesting 'moment' as I hopped from leg to leg into my jeans As I seem to cut more timber than metal whilst I'm down there I'll be sure to get the temporary fix more permanantly resolved this week. morgs

Massive thanks to all for a great day on Saturday and especially to Bruce for being such a great host despite his family problems. Thanks again to Bryn for giving me the handle and spare wheel carrier off the 'shelf' that he brought to donate to A52. Sorry to anyone that I bored to death with my Vitara related whinging Thanks to datsundrew for the teas and warming up sessions, was good to meet you. Thanks to Dave for the ride up to A52 (get a working thermostat in your van, I couldn't feel my legs or feet by the time we got back!) Good to see all the usual suspects and good to meet all the new folks, looking forward to the next one (maybe I'll be under my own steam by then)
