Dude, you HAVE to come over! It has been decreed. Our random Friday night pre-playday curse word-ups are too good to put a halt to now! If you can't make the 9th Jan, you simply have to be over for the 20th Feb (which is the confirmed date for the following PlayDay......Fibreglassing workshop ) It's the LAW! Right, I'm off to sort through the photos of the weekend and start choosing the ones to post up. Mark, you're right......GNO-MIST FTMFW!!!

Feb 20th already confirmed eh? *Whips out diary* John Dickens gave me a choice of any Sat in February - my first thought was for the 13th seeing as we try and get the PlayDays in the middle weekend of the month, but I realise that Sunday is that day of romance, so I wouldn't want to be making all you RR fanatics decide between meal out with GF on Sat night or GRP, burgers & beer?? Saturday 20th Feb is now confirmed as the GRP PlayDay (with Sat 9th/Sun 10th of Jan as the 'ship shape & Bristol fashion' get the workshop sorted weekender) Thanks for the reminder about 9th/10th. I was hung over when looking at the calender and came over all confused! Any ideas of what examples you'd like to see demonstrated? Any particular item or technique? Please give me some ideas that I can feed back to John for him to possibly demonstrate.....

PHOTOS!!!! Not many yet.....I'm gradually working through them - but here are a few to get you started. Getting the cars out of the unit to make some space Chris & Ian arrive in their suitably cool motors (pink 'drunken painting session' tiger stripe trim rings still looking great!) Chris, Adam, Ian, Mark, Ben, Phil & Simon Lotta love for this car! The fuzz even have signs to show their respect for dropped motors! (found by 'anonymous' in a hedgerow on their way to the PlayDay!) BBQ going, beer opened.....banter in full flow. That's what its all about. Tim, sorry you couldn't stay for long. Chris tackles his stereo in between bouts of defrosting his fingers.... So what's getting their attention then?? Find out in the next installment (tonight, when I get back from work when I have a bit more time.... )

so whats the plan for the 9th/10th as its looking good for a weekend free so I may well pop along! got a bench grinder you can have and poss a few more bits as I'm having a big clearout! Dan Thanks Dan, Here is the original idea which I will make a proper post for very soon: As Ian said today, getting the unit/workspace sorted first is a far greater priority so that the space and facilities can be used well and more effectively in the future. With that sentiment in mind I propose that the PlayDay on Jan 9th/10th (next official Playday) is spent getting the unit as 'sorted' as possible. I will draw up a list of things that need doing to get everything working/fixed/finished and post them on here so we can get organised and really get the most out of the weekend. There are quite a few jobs that need doing to make the workspace more efficient. These include comissioning the sand blaster and parts washer, removing a rotten window frame and replacing it with something suitably A52 stylie (single plywood cut-out frame with perspex both sides kinda thing), finishing the trunking/conduit for the wiring, cleaning up & servicing the 2 post lift, sorting the racking out, putting up some shelves in the lobby for the growing library of mags and manuals, fitting a sink in the snug (complete with the plumbing), fitting worktops to the work bench then fitting the vices, pillar drill etc..... All of these jobs I can do by myself, but to do them all in my own time will take AGES! If we work combined over a weekend I reckon they can all be done (and more) in one weekend. I will draw up a full list of jobs very soon along with any bits needed. I am willing to buy stuff, but if anything can be sourced for free, then it is all for the greater good. PlayDay three showed what can be achieved with a set of focused tasks. If I can make them even more concise and let people volunteer for various jobs (working in pairs, threes etc...) then the workrate will be amazing and progress will be great. Obviously there will be the obligatory BBQ, man food and (later on) booze. ;D I will draw this up properly over the weekend and post it up here so that we can all start planning what can be done & how. Thanks again for the offer of the bench grinder etc....it will be much apreciated. Regards for now, Bruce.

Brian, you are more than welcome to come along. Fitting sinks aside, it's all about getting together and having fun. If you're up for it, bring a sleeping bag and lots of warm bedding.....the atmosphere & laughs in the evening/night is just epic! I'll be putting the word out for a stainless steel sink & taps....I've got a water heater off Rodit (thanks Tim ) and hope to find a kitchen cupboard to fit it into......this will give the unit warm water at last and somewhere cleaner to wash cups & glasses rather than the grotty sink in the loo with its ice cold water! Thanks again, Bruce.

Hey Bruce, have you tried Freecycle for the plumbing bits? Put out a WANTED on there and you will be surprised at what can be donated! I would do it up here for you, but there is very little chance I can make it down for the playday (Looks like March maybe ) Rysz.

i have a industrial (sp?) sink availible if some1 can transport to A52 from tunbridge wells kent, free standing unit nice n deep and can prob supply taps (if they're not still on it? lol) only bad point is its got a fair bit of overspray on the the top of it but being stainless would very easy clean up completely free of corse
