I have a industrial (sp?) sink availible if some1 can transport to A52 from tunbridge wells kent, free standing unit nice n deep and can prob supply taps (if they're not still on it? lol) only bad point is its got a fair bit of overspray on the the top of it but being stainless would very easy clean up  completely free of corse What sort of vehicle would be required to move it? WOW! Thanks for the offers everyone! Bernyone, I really appreciate the offer of the industrial sink and I always hate to turn stuff away, but it sounds like it might be a bit big for what I need  There is limited space in the snug and a normal domestic stainless sink with drainer is pretty much perfect. This will then fit into a standar household cupboard that I can fit the water heater into as well as the cups, plates etc... Hairpiece, thanks Dude.....does this mean that you might be venturing down again in Jan?? I hope so.....it was great to have you around. CRACKERS! Sorry to hear you weren't too comfortable on the sofa, but you have to remember that it's the legendary 'Gathering' sofa you had for the night so please don't be too harsh on it ;D I think I can source a sink cupboard and with having Wickes just down the road we should be OK for any plumbing bits that I can't get together beforehand. Thanks again everyone.....PlayDay5 is already shaping up to be an awesome get-together..... |

Dude, if I can find a means of fitting another sink in, I'd gladly accept your offer.....but at the moment there is not a lot of room what with just taking in a parts washer and sand blasting cabinet! If only I could somehow convince the guy in the middle part of the unit that he no longer needs the space....and that the needs of Retro Rides is a far more worthy cause than his rusting motors?

oh and its not huge! at a guess id say its 5x2' with a 2'ish bowl and waist high if its of any use ill gladly check on measurements tomorrow

Ive got a Mctraveller stainless one, brand new, sitting in the shed, should the procured one not meet the space or whatever You want a fridge freezer? Actually no idea how to get it to you LOL. might fit in the senny..... NOT haha. |

Jim, sorry I missed your call today. I wanted to catch you to apologise for not making it on the Cruise.... Also, hope you're enjoying the new motor? Can't wait to see it.... Right, back to some pictures of the weekend. Most of my pics are of the HUUUGE mission Adrain & Phil were on to tackle the wiring. The reason most of my shots are of this is because the guys worked at it ALL day and well into the night! HEROES!! That's Adrian with the ladder. Looking up and wishing he'd never heard of Area 52! Sorry Dude....  Ian misses his Superman outfit but doesn't stop him pretending....  Just some of the many, many wires that Phil & Adrian had to sort, disconnect, re-route, re-sort and re-connect.  The Delica was drafted into action to serve as a mobile work platform. Handy bit of kit!  Damn these evenings where it gets dark at 4.00!! Working by torchlight & worklight was the only option...  Ian & myself move the main lighting gantry while Phil & Mark sort out a way of securing the end. This gives clearance over the lift for cars to be raised.  Ian randonly decides to re-enact 'Night Fever' while sitting on top of the Delica. Jim takes over gantry support duties...  Si Supervises  Phil just kept on working....  .....and working!  A silhouetted shot of the two grafters  Jim brings out the cuppa's to keep them going  Mark & Mark enjoy the tea making - a great way to warm your hands up (did I mention how cold the unit was??)  Mark gives some much needed light to Adrain as he plods on with the wiring  Are we getting anywhere??  Might not look it, but the end is getting nearer  Phil - A52 wiring guru!  Adrain - A52 wiring legend!  Getting nearer - the Delica is back in its place, Phil & Adrian sense the end is getting closer (many hours after starting!)  Late night.....way later than expected, Phil & Adrian put the finsihing touches to the lighting/power gantry  You guys are true legends. 8+ hours of solid work in cold (very cold) condition and most of it in the dark! Thank you both again for your incredibe work. It certainly won't be forgotten and it certainly won't go unappreciated. |

Some more shots I took while Phil & Adrian were playing with various wires: Jims awesome VW bus. If you want to see genuine WIP patina, this is it!  Ian watches (I personally love the atmosphere in this shot)  MR2 Turbo. What a great car!  Si & Ben chat  My trusty Delica.....it showed another handy trick to add to its already long list of talents/skills  I'm sure the new owner will look after it  Just as a point of interest.....every single one of these shots (and of ALL the previous Play Days) were taken without a flash and without a tripod. Just natural, available light and 100% handheld. It still impresses me how good modern digital cameras are..... |

Great shots Bruce... love this pic: never underestimate the power of tea and burgers! I reckon if we get a wriggle on and appoint a tea maker, a chef, then apportion the rest of the jobs in teams we could build that caracampervan in a couple of playdays! |

Thanks for the comments guys ;D Sorry for being so slack at getting these shots up! Here is the '260Z set' which is dedicated to Mark for trusting me to decide if this car was worthy of his ownership.....and for letting me collect it on his behalf. Power & lights BACK ON!! HOOORAH!!! Mark immediately brings his 260 inside for a check over before his 'through the night' drive to Dublin. Hairnet arrives around this time too (late arrival, but great to have you on board Dude )  The Area52 posse soon set to work on getting the car tip-top, sorting out a multitude of little niggles  My awesone retro test meter for an awesome retro car. They don't make'm like they used to....  Sculpted dashboard FTW! Patina steering wheel....the jury is still out on this one! Foam is sa far gone it feels all squishy and loose in your hands.  The Colonel falls a little bit more in love with the thing...  Old school, SO cool!  This thing purrs beautifully  Just to remind you that you're driving something a little special. Screw airbags, all steering wheels should be this cool  Jamiroquai Ben sorting out 'something' on the list of niggles  The work continues....  Area52 at its best ;D  All hands on deck  ....only stopping to lubricate  All sorted, car running lovely, everyone stands around admiring a lovely piece of Japanese design. I'll drink to that......  |
