No, not 'any car'... It should go on the rascal! ;D It's reserved for Sandrail duties ;D In other news.....following on from comments made over the weekend I figured one of these would be useful: Looked very tidy and just had to be bought! I'll hopefully be collecting it from Newbury on Sunday...... Any ideas on the best cleaning stuff to use in these?? Ours is filled with paraffin.

would love to see something silly made out of it ... if anyone wants to rise to the challenge .. its FOC in stevenage herts Yup I'll stick my hand up and say I/we will find a mad use for it! Dunno about collecting it though it wont fit in a MX5 lol.. i'll ask around the regulars see if anyone is over that way and can help out.. i'll PM you with any updates, must dash as I'm about to try and fit a 125cc scooter in a volvo saloon.. wish us luck lol. Excellent. I might be able to offer it a ride from Herts to Bristol (going home to my parent's house for Christmas, will be returning early January) - it's just a question of whether a 50cc moped will go in an Imp... Maybe if I took the passenger seat out? It'll be a struggle, especially with all my Uni stuff to bring back.

Welder would be awesome if you are OK to donate it?? Worst case scenario is that it gets incorporated into some kind of sculpture if it can't be got working. Many thanks for the offer.... As for bodywork victim - the best thing I can offer at the moment is a possible 'yes please'. There are already quite a few cars put forward and we might be alright for now, but as I've said to a few others, bring it along anyway and if there is room & time, then we'll wheel it in. It all depends on how the day pans out, how well we get on with the other cars etc..... One thing I can say - there will always be another time if we don't get chance this time around. I see Joe has given some good advice about this and its something we can always try out on a test bit of bodywork to see how weatherproof it is. There is a 'spare' MX5 bootlid of Joe's that is crying out for some decoupage testing so maybe we could give it a go during the day. If you have any CCC's that you think you can spare, the unit is always looking to expand its retro motoring magazine collection. Nudge nudge wink wink ;D Cool, i shall make my way over on the 12th No probs with the welder, my wife will be more than happy to see it out of the shed and i would like to see it have a good home (whether that is reused, spares or made into something interesting). As for the CCC's, a big stack will be in boot as well for reading or for other purposes if and when the time allows. A test on a spare panel would be fun if there is time. No probs on the bodywork victim, a fun day out is more important

anyone figured a way to get this moped yet ? Sorry, my bad! I've been so busy arranging a roadtrip up North; Bristol to N. Yorkshire to Nottingham to Tamworth back to Bristol followed by another trip from Bristol to Marlborough to Pembrokeshire to Dublin then back to Bristol. Unfortunately neither of those trips come anywhere near you.....but I'll see if I can find anyone else who might be able to help out? Thanks again for the offer....I'll see what I can do?

See yis there Pick you up from airport once you let me know arrival time Glad you can make it over. To everyone else, I'll be putting up final details a bit later, but most of you know what is going on anyway. Just want to get it 'finalised' on here so that everyone knows what is going on. Not been able to yet due to manic running around the country Sat, Sun & yesterday + major family crisis to deal with etc.... Get those welding masks & gloves at the ready (plus your welders/grinders if you've got them!)

Can I just suggest that if anyone who is coming has a mig at home that so far has irritated/annoyed/defied all attempts to use it for sticking metal together/succeeded only in producing welds that look like they fell out of a pigeon, should bring it along and we'll see if we can't get you welding in a neat and more importantly structural manner. Looking forward to this

Right the basic plan is something like this: Bring any kit you have or are able to carry in your car: welder, grinders, welding mask, gloves etc....if you're a competent welder then you will probably be there to help less confident people learn (as said by Ian above.....thanks mate ) Bring a bit of bodywork/panel work you might have spare. Nothing better to practice on than an old door/bonnet. We already have a few cars lined up as 'donor' cars for welding but if there is time, we might be able to look at a car or two more? Until things start happening on Saturday its really hard to tell or make a set schedule. As per usual PlayDays, there will be tea & coffee provided along with some biscuits and crisps (lots of packs left over from last PlayDay) As per usual there will be the A52 BBQ running most of the day so lots of meat needed to keep the hunger monsters at bay. Burgers, sausages and appropraite bread, cheese slices, ketchup etc....anything you can bring will more than likely end up being cooked and consumed. That's what we do ;D Drinks - please bring soft drinks along. As said, tea & coffee will be avail, but if fizzy pop is your thing then please bring whatever tickles your quenching needs. Last time a few of us chipped in a load of money each and sent two volunteers down to the local Sainsburys to purchase BBQ food aplenty. If you want to go this route, please bring money instead of food (usually approx £10 to cover BBQ food, donuts etc....) Booze.....again, last time a lot of us chipped in and bought a bulk load of booze. Only any good if you are staying over at the unit. If you are staying over.....PLEASE bring LOTS of warm bedding. You'll need it for when your beer jacket wears off during the night. Beyond that, it's a case of turn up and learn to weld really. We will be welding cars, learning to weld cars and also making round 2 of sculptures to add to the collection. Sculptures are good. Sculptures are a lot of fun. Sculptures keep Area52 alive! (100% true) If you haven't been before, please PM me and I will send you directions. To the regular degenerates that descend on the unit every month, see you there..... ;D

My welder is utter pap. However, I'm buying a big gas bottle regulator/conversion for it tomorrow so there will be one extra welder to dick about with if required. I'll probably bring along those wings as well to swap over so there's some scrap thin metal to play and practice on.
Same time as usual, Bruce?
