Well if you have come from the post in the general board, this thread is to organise and plan the convoy from Ireland to the event. For e.g. ferries, meeting point for the ferry, as well as accommodation if needs be.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.

I suppose it's too early to start making a list, but I'll be going anyway. Leaving from either Magherafelt or Belfast.

Last year if you ignore the fact we missed the ferry, I'd guess it cost me ~ £250 or more, but I was paying for my passenger too. So long as you're not ragging it the whole way, it shouldn't be more than a couple of tanks of fuel I'd think.

Same as myself nugget i have mentioned this to a couple of people and they are keen to go. I was just checking ferries out. there is one going from Rosslare to Pembroke and its only three hours or so from there to the Haynes Motor Museum. Although it might be a very long trip for the guys from belfast and derry. Just an idea at the mo.

That's the route we took last year, didn't factor in traffic on friday outside Dublin well enough or in Wales/England on saturday, that ferry was incredibly boring and took a fair bit longer than 3 hours to get from Pembroke to Haynes. I'm tagging along with an fear o dhoire so I'm in no position to make decisions but I think we were agreed not to get that ferry again.

^ Yeah we did, because they are cheating slimy nasty people that work for IrishFerries!
Costs, roughly, as I remember: £160 for the ferry return £80? for the re-booked sailing (can disregard that as we'll be sailing on a PROPER ferry company this year...) £120 fuel (4 tanks at £30) £50 food and camping costs (mostly BBQ food on disposables) £28.99 for 5L of 20W50 after you overheat (can disregard as we wont meet Pembroke traffic again!)
I've sailed the Liverpool ferry before, and it's 8 hours of boredom. It takes two hours to get to Stranraer and three to four to get level with liverpool down the M1 so I don't reckon its that favourable, apart from saving about 250 miles worth of juice. Sailing out of Dublin to wales would be a good option, but I would strongly recommend a late night sailing so to avoid any traffic issues, both in Dublin and in Wales, and going that way necessitates going via Birmingham which is why I tried to avoid that journey last year. However I think it would be much fairer if we were to travel in a large convoy, to make it Dublin, as Rosslare is very far for us and Larne is very far for many of the southerners.
The way we went would have been fine if we'd been let on our ferry, but going the next morning meant we were caught in Cardiff traffic and that 3/4 hour journey took us well over twice the estimated time.

I think, putting my own personal preference aside, that a Dublin to Holyhead sailing (or Pembroke if they do it, preferably) would be the best compromise on distance travelled as a group. Perhaps a Belfast-Holyhead coupled with a Dublin-Holyhead would be an option and meet up in North Wales?
However I deferring all choices to An Fear O Dhoire and Redbaronmulisha as I feel wholly responsible for last years cock-up and excess charges, and I have lost any right to do the choosing of the ferry. Of course I'll do the navigating though, as I was the only one without a sat-nav last year, and the only one that didn't get lost, lol.

Nearly think Rosslare > Pembroke/Fishguard might be the best way to go again. A ferry to Liverpool or Cairnryan would be a real pain in the hole of a drive.
As for dates, what about leaving early friday morning and heading back on monday morning?
