Whats happened to the merc?
think I paid € 326.00 return for 2 of us last year. Although I was very late booking. Think ye got them for good bit less when ye got a group booking ~€111 for 2 return

Lads I have no idea if I'm even going to make it this year, never mind when I'm going to go! Don't even have any running cars either! Were the ferries that expensive last year? Not even close me lad. Well, Joey's new price is around the same I think. That Dublin-Holyhead one is making my booking finger tingle. Bound to save more than 30euro in petrol between Dublin and Rosslare too, so it makes sense... |

Ferry Watch Update lads and lassies . Prices have come down a bit. All prices here based on leaving Thursday evening 5th Aug, returning Monday Afternoon 9th and 2 ppl per car. I think my hearing is playing up....did you say that you might not be making it over? You and the wee Nugget are coming over if you like it or not. Hitch a lift with one of the others, hitch hike, WALK.....just get over for the show. Mark, I've tried to ring a couple of times but not managed to get through (phoning on Skype in case you don't recognise the number) Really looking forward to the Irish lot coming over. So what cars will be attending then? |

They're much better looking prices lads, i'm hoping to book very soon. Bruce, I'll be there - had hoped for the Magnum but having no wages has hindered the progress there so the GT will go again I reckon

I'm think of taking the Dublin - Holyhead this year instead of Rosslare. Its a bit of a longer distance but the new motorway from Cork-Dublin should be quicker.

Whats the plan when we get there? Drive on or stop in Holyhead overnight and head off Friday morning. I slept in the car last year in Fishguard which I don't really fancy doing again. I don't really fancy putting up a tent at 1 in the morning either. So maybe book a hostel or something?

If you guys can make it a bit earlier, how about I open up the doors and you all crash over at Area 52 on the Thursday night? What sort of time do you think you could make it to Bristol?
I'm sure some of the regulars would be up for it....could be quite an awesome 'pre-Gathering' get together. ;D

Ok iv changed my mind  yes that was quick Iv done some calculations This route will cost me ~50€ more in petrol 2€ more on ferry ;D plus M50 toll both ways. (6€ +late fee ) so No brainier for me I think €60 cheaper to take Rosslare instead. Oh and Holyhead to Bristol is over 5hrs and later ferrys land after 01:00 |

I think we could do either ferry or combine, perhaps meeting up in wales. The Dublin to Rosslare run wasn't fun last year. I think, unless someone volunteers, I'll put together some options and see what and when we can do. Some people will want to be booking soon and at least from the north we hope to have a couple of people that haven't made the run before so could do with settling their minds! Thats a very generous offer from MM as well that we would be foolish not to accept! I had actually thought of asking something along the same lines, but during the return trip instead. Pauric, it's quite likely you're going to have your X fixed for you, so your only excuse will be the cost |
