Is it a real supersport, seeing as its an R reg? I'm no guru but didn't think you could get em that early, could be a privae plate of course though and is neat so my suspicions could be wrong. Great idea, its RWD i take it, festas usually wheelspin for britain, theres been a few concoctions over the years, there was a lad from another forum who had a lancia engine in the back of his. been on ebay a few times.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Thats ace! - I love the fact that we can currently freely do such conversions in this country and use them on our public roads - I just hope that such enginuity is not outlawed in the future by unknowledgable & ill-informed government bodies

yes its a supersport which kind of makes the whole thing a shame as there getting rare now but why the hell not ;D
and originally it would have been a 1.3 X'flow with FWD format, but an RST unit gives power gains and if that isnt enough + supercharger + nitrous = no grip
ive thought about doing the same sort of thing with a volvo T-5 unit before now

The guys name is Chris Todd and last time I checked he was the rolling road man at Power Engineering in Uxbridge. The last incarnation of this thing was proper crazy, he'd hit a power wall at about 220bhp as I remember, it turned out the supercharger was strangling the turbo which was next in line down the induction chain. So he removed the pipe from the supercharger to the turbo and although very laggy, power jumped to 250+... One rpm activated switch in the induction tract later and it would open a small auxillary air intake between the two giving the turbo more air above about 4000rpm... It was featured on a DVD/video somewhere and sounded incredible, whistling, popping, boosting madness... Been looking forward to this one for quite a while, really hope to see it this year sometime. Power to weight anybody? ;D

Hi Chris, This is Bryn, great to see you're nearly there with it, been hearing rumours through grapevines etc. Haven't been in Uxbridge for quite a while now, so hope all's good with you. Certainly looks it from here! ;D Must have been a bunch of work, but I love the way it still looks so innocent, perfect, was talking to a guy about it today down in Plymouth who had a car we were doing for Fast Ford, and he remembered seeing it on a DVD too, but neither of us could remember where from? The best I could come up with was the original Ten of The Best event four years ago? All the pictures in the world can't quite show people just what this thing sounded and went like... Anyway, enough flattery Good to see you on here, it's a rare place. Bryn
