thats a hard choice.. both are ace motors.. Cedric would probably my my choice so I wouldnt swap.. although there is something about the front of those celicas thats real nice on the eye... also its weighing up 3 litre v6 versus 2 litre 4 pot.. v6 wins there too I'm afraid...
my opinion? Keep the cedric

DTHP, you're a full-size gent, yes? Like your space in the cabin?
If answers are yes, then you may find the Sillyca to be cramped. If possible, can you test-fit? It's not a spacious cabin, IIRC. YMMV!
If it fits and suits you, then I'd swap in a heartbeat.

I've not had a Cedric but have had the Celica (ok, it was red, but the same model) so I would choose the Celica. Just have a drive in the Celica and I'm sure you'll make your own mind up ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

nicely put mr blitz ,yes i am of the more cedric sized proportions LOL, forgot to say the celica is a 4 pot 1600 so quite a difference , but i believe ther may relitively easy engine options available, if i keep the cedric i will invest in one or two bits , any more input!

I've been looking at a Laurel recently, and the Celica is really ugly and parts are expensive from what I remember. So i vote stick with the Laurel... but get some DISH!

I'm going to run with the majority and say stick with the Cedric. You've got space and pace, all you need is the aforementioned dish and a tickle with the stick? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I'm late to this just got in from fitting a clutch in the frontera at 2.45 am and I have now decided after all your whining about this subject on sunday that I'm gonna vote for the Cedric as well because: A: It's much more unique B: It has a daft and memorable name C:You could style it in more ways than you could the Celica as it would lend itself to VIP,lowrider, gangster mobile etc. D:The DICK-TAKER sticker would look wrong on the celica E:It has bags more character than the Celica F:As Blitz said you are a bit vast for the Celica cockpit G:The Cedric doesn't leak now and has doubled it's value with the weigh in price of the silicone hosing H:You really do love that car and I wouldn't be able to bear to see you hunched over in a corner pining for it if you do ever get rid I:You have spent the equivalent of the gross domestic product of Asia on it already J: It suits you I can't imagine you in anything else K:It has a large boot that you could fill with cheesy mash and lumpy gravy L: Thats enough from me on the subject.

I thought you were all mad for a RWD Celica?
I'm a barge guy so you know what I'd be cruising out of the two.

Love the Cedric, but it's the Celica by a mile.
I'm 6'3", 190lbs and there is plenty of room (in the front), and the long coupe doors help with getting in there.
They are surprising good cruisers, (better than the 2 litre cars) - very comfy and refined for a 4-pot. I've taken a couple on European tours with no problems in terms of comfort or reliability. Mechanically tough and virtually identical to all 1600 Celicas back to '71, good build quality - panels are likely to be your only problem, but even they can found if you know where to look.
As for lack of character (shame on whoever said that! ) - drive it and make your own mind up! ;D
