You can get Merc s/savers in 18", but they are only 3.5" wide. Which gives you all the more option for a lovely band on them! 5" band = 8.5" wide goodness YUMMY! Further research indicates VAG have a 19" space saver steel. There's one on eBay at the moment.

my extensive lack of modern jag knowledge fails me at this point, but while last at chez seff in the big city, I saw a modern jag (the mondeo one?) - with some sort of sporty spec, and it was rocking a completely smooth 18" spacesaver, in a very useable 5x120 (4 3/4" chevy) pattern - can jamesp band an 18" do we know?

The idea of a bandaed space saver is very cool. But is there a but with them in that some are made with a pretty unique bead shape, for their pretty uniqe space saver tyres, that isn't suitable for seating a "normal" tyre. I know its been done so this obviously isnt a problem for all types of spacesaver, but I'm i'm sure i can remeber reading that it can be. As for the 20"s one of these in satin black, gloss black moon logo maltese cross on the flanks, minimal ride height gloss black wheels, low pro, with a very narrow white band.

Sorry to use your car and go off topic but thats why you shouldnt run modern rims on old cars!! Same rims but smaller might suit better, like 15/16"

A little bump for this one. I've just discovered that Dodge also make a 20" steel wheel for the Nitro, in 7.5J. The PCD is 4.5", or 5*114.3!!!!!!! eBay US link

I saw an amazing looking Cossie powered Corsair on those in Retro Ford in early 2008, gave me the right horn. A great example of how everything has potential to work if applied correctly. Stays just down the road from me, and is a serious rival for my S3 on the twisties up here.

The S type, X350 saloon (the all ali one), the new shape XK and the X type all have the smaller PCD. Sean

Are Ford 5 studs not 5x112? Which is why you sometimes see Granada wheels on late bays and T25s?

Personally, I reckon the Viva looks good on 19s...too much Street Machine in my youth I suspect (although obviously, it'd need to be lower).

Front wheel drive 5 stud is 5x108mm
Rear wheel drive 5 stud is 5x112mm (on European models)
IIRC.

Likewise. I priced up a set of the new 17" slot mags recently, and a set of decent tyres was about as expensive as the wheels, so I don't even want to know how much low profile 20" tyres cost
