Great pics & thanks for sharing them with us! A friend of my dad's has one of these - it's being set up for long distance rallying, whilst a Sabre Six is his track car and toy. Cool, any pics? scimitar coupes like that are getting rare, even rubish ones like that go for rather alot of money compared with the normal estate back. I'll try and get some more pictures of it during the week, it's in a tricky location though, sometimes the Rover isn`t there and you can get a good view of it.

These were taken about a year ago, at which stage just the chassis, suspension & half cage had been done. I think it's now been painted & the half-cage has since been replaced by a full cage. The stance looks odd as there wasn't an engine in it - this is a very early one (early enough to be eligible for loads of classic rallying events etc) with the 2.6 straight 6 Zodiac engine.

you know, i've never been able to get on with those Scimitar coupes... Are they much lighter than GTE, but powered by the Essex V6 still?

They are just amazing. Proves how much is in use all year round and what is slowly going back to nature sitting in peoples back yards. That 'open' Land Rover has got to be the best of the bunch

A 924... ...on those wheels... Mouldy Quattro... Under all the bodypanels is an Elan tub on an SJ410 size 4x4 chassis ... Morris 1100... Fiat 128 coupe? Another Land Rover... And my attempt at getting a photo of the disguised new new MINI leaving the Cowley plant...

Went out for a bit of a recky in my new town of residence the other day and all I could see was a Mini, 2 Triumph 2000's and a host of Reliants at the 3-wheeler garage. How do you manage to find all these retro's? I get some dodgy looks if I try and take pictures, must be something about being a slightly scruffy teenager in a hoody.

I am not suggesting you do this but I tend to trespass and get the hell out of there pretty quickly.....sometimes I ask consent but its an old car - wheres the harm? I play a little more caution in scrapyards - you'd be surprised to hear some scrapyards participate in illegal activities (!)
Minion, I recognise quite a few of your snaps, Oxford and its surrounding area's always seems to bring up some gems.

There is so much more round here than back at my parent's house in Kent.
I always feel a bit dodge taking photos of people's houses but I'm normally out on my bike and move on pretty quick. I'm pretty cautious in scrapyards too, just turn the flash off and take them quickly.

Or stare at them and run away screaming. Thats helps you get away with it.
I spotted a late seventies Colt Lancer a few years back on a driveway in Southampton. As I approached the car to inspect it, the old bloke who owned the car came out of his house and threatened me with what looked like a 200 year old musket (a la lock stock) I took his threat with some bewilderement and walked away briskly.....I later learned that the this area of the town had been pleagued with troublesome local kids and he was simply defending his terrority. Shame, nice car too.
