I agree with craig with regards to the position of the brackets for the grille, mounting them inside the grille would give a cleaner look to the front end. Having said all that, have the brackets just been added to mock up the grille's final position? No they are permanent I'm afraid. I haven't sourced any headlights yet, but hoping to use some nice chrome ones or maybe get some painted red oxide to match the bodies colour. I got rome cardboard so I have begun making the floor section. Still need to trim here and there, but it is almost done. ![](http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww257/Boulderdash_photos/DSC02170.jpg) ![](http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww257/Boulderdash_photos/DSC02169.jpg) ![](http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww257/Boulderdash_photos/DSC02167.jpg)

Even more floor in now. It is starting to get heavy lifting the body on and off ;D ;D ![](http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww257/Boulderdash_photos/DSC02231.jpg) ![](http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww257/Boulderdash_photos/DSC02230.jpg)

Neat little project. When I saw the grille I thought it could do with a bit of a rake , pulling the top back towards the body of the car. Wouldn't need much, only a few degrees, then it shouldn't look so stark against the rest. You should get some absolutely huge headlamps too, like the ones on Austin Sheerlines, mounted really low... although that might end up looking somewhat phallic >.>
Shall follow your progress gleefully now I've discovered this build. *attaches a bookmark*

Thanks guys. Next I plan to build a sub frame which attaches to the floor, built from flat section. The idea is to bolt the rubber bobbins for mounting the body onto them, and this will in turn give the bolt heads from the trans tunnel clearance from the chassis.

Looks like a sweet little car you've got yourself there, and a nice little summer project too! Ads 19 It shoudl only raise it by an inch very at the most, and that is only if I do plan on going down this frame and bobbin route.

Right, I've decided (I think?!) to stick to the original bolt-on method of attaching the body and using rubber between both surfaces. I am hopefully nearing the end of the tunnel fabbing (still need to put spring washers on all those nuts though ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) ), and then I can fully concentrate on the body mounting. ![](http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww257/Boulderdash_photos/DSC02436.jpg) ![](http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww257/Boulderdash_photos/DSC02434.jpg)

The rake on the grille is fine if you're keeping everything upright looking, but if you're going to be trying to make things lower and longer, it needs pushing out at the bottom. What's the plan for the front arches and other metal?

I agree with Volksangyl, the rake looks good as it is. Thou as the rest of the car comes together it will change how the car looks and you might want to adjust it again then.

I have installed the fuel lines and the fuel tank. Made some brackets, bolted it all to the chassis and mocked it up, then took them off and sprayed them. I think it looks pretty good. ![](http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww257/Boulderdash_photos/DSC02515.jpg) ![](http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww257/Boulderdash_photos/DSC02514.jpg)
