Right well I bought this from Hirst a little while ago and it has been a cracking little car. Dead easy and fun to Drive, pretty nippy and excelent on fuel.
Recently the battery went flat (my brother left the lights on) and since then the battery has never held its charge. I bought a new battery for it. Fitted it and now the car won't start. It did start brefly but the guages didn't work and it wouldn't rev. I've totally lost heart with it and am now advertising it for sale.
Here's the contents of Hirsts Ad. Nothings changed apart from it now has a K&N Panel filter and a CD/DVD Player:
A bit of background on the car, it's a Mira Classic - these were a retro-style take on the normal Mira/Cuore model. The Turbo 4WD is the best specification, with a 3-cylinder 659cc twincam engine with a turbo/intercooler setup and fulltime 4WD. The turbo also gets a real wood Momo wheel and retro-style black leather seats.
The reason it is here, Daihatsu UK showed one at a motorshow and received positive comments so imported 50 to be sold through UK dealers. As such it is a proper UK car so you won't get stung on the insurance and you can get any bits you might need through Daihatsu dealers.
This one has 76K on the clock, the last owner was a Daihatsu nut who had it for about 4 years, in this time he maintained it to an excellent standard with oil changes every 3000 miles, he also fitted some Iridium spark plugs. It has had a new front exhaust pipe a few months back too. Also the cambelt was changed in 2004 at 61K so won't need doing for yonks.
The last owner also added some proper kit to it in his ownership - a HKS Turbo Timer, HKS Blow-off Valve, APEXi Boost Gauge and a genuine Pivot Raizin electrical grounding kit. This stuff is the real deal from Japan and cost a fair whack! Also the wheels have been professionally powdercoated in gunmetal grey and have a full set of Falken tyres with good tread.
There is some light panel damage on the passenger side front wing and the lower part of the doors where something has scraped down it. It isn't really a problem (see pics) and the wing has been touched in to make it look more presentable, though if you wanted to make it mint you could obtain the panels from a silver UK-market Cuore 5-door and do a straight swap. It hasn't bothered me or the last owner though, it's still a tidy motor and gets a lot of attention.
It'll probably take 5 minutes to fix but I've totally lost heart with it![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)
As for price I'm looking for offers. Please remember that this is an incredibly rare car in the UK. Would also consider a swap or part ex for something little with MOT and Tax.
