i know it's not really retro, but hey, it is 12 years old! for some time now i've been thinking how much better my 1997 B'ling 1.9d daily would look if it had a tap with the stick... questions are; what lowering springs would be suitable to use - i'm guessing those from a 306 would work? but what spec 306 springs fit? i've also been told that if i want to lower more than -40mm (ideally i would like -60 springs) that i need to source & fit 'lowered shocks' for both front & rear... Any ideas where i'd source them and what, if anything would they be shared with in the PSA range? if i went with -60 is there likely to be troubles with driveshaft wear? anyone out there done the job? any pointers, ideas, pictures welcome! here it is: the van is totally standard at present, including the steel wheels, it will be staying that way too, save for the suspension! here's one of the only lowered ones i've seen: Neil.

Not sure if he's using shocks as well. He's a member on passion ford. I'll go and find out!

I've got a fancy dress Berlingo (it's a Peugeot partner quicksilver) and have been wondering about going the other way - leave it on it's tip toes and make it surprisingly quick. Currently it's a 1.9D.
Spotted a 306 GTi-6 for spares or repairs recently and started wondering how hard it would be to transplant? Would be a great way to surprise the Saxo brigade! Also fancy those Saxo VTS rims on it.

The Navy one shown above is getting a 2.0 8v Turbo installed. Apparently a GTI-6 engine will go on the same engine mounts as the 1.9d.

Not quite RR style, but some nice touches. (You don't want to see the front)

I've seen a couple of them in Belgium being lowered so there should be some sort of way to do it right... belgian traffic law is quite bad on the aspect on lowering cars..
1.9 turbodiesels can be very fast, so i guess a gti lump is not the route you must take to make it faster. Ask some of the VW guys, I know some very fast caddy's
