My son has asked me to put up the photos of his latest project. We were fortunate to pick this car up on Ebay (where else) for a reasonable price. Taxed( two weeks) and Mot (year). Loads of plans in the pipeline but for now to treat it as a daily runner. As we bought it. - First and most important modification: Smoothing the hatch: Love that 80s brown interior Original radio, LW & MW only. As it is now some six weeks later. New Minilite wheels, front wings resprayed the correct colour, VW Golf splitter, new metal pressed plates and some minor modifications and stickers. Engine block painted and new rocker cover and oil breather filter. Engine has been completely serviced with points plugs filters oil change, new starter solenoid. New Minilite wheels 12 x 5 and wheel arches had to be rolled to accomodate them. Centre cap was badly tarnished and are now colour coded. Classic Monza style mirror with my Clio182 in reflection. Tinted lights and de-badged and wipered. New bumper on it's way. Carbon Fibre on a retro car? How dare we!! Colour coded sills and nice clean panels. Wooden wheel left from a previous project and mini boss FTW. Didn't realise the Tacho was so chav when we bought it off Ebay. 80s Radio Cassette in gwo and looks the part. Must fit better speakers. Some people take this retro theme too far.

Looks in good nick! To be honest, I don't know if it even needs a slam, looks good with the chunky tyres.

Not even Alan Partridge could have resisted this. I like it, except the tach... It's just too far from the theme on the rest of the car. I would have found a more fitting one.

Kewl. Liking all the little touches, they add up! Clean looking car, what suspension does it have, i'm guessing hydrospheric-watchamacallit?

Okay, just a quick update. My son went round a friend's last week and her dad lowered the car for him. He thinks that it could go lower but is dealing with some arch issues at the moment. c&c welcome

This is one ace lil' Metro, and a credit to you. Even living 3 miles from the factory they were made in hasn't dulled my enthusiasm for these, one day I might get round to owning an early povo-spec example. ;D

Looks awesome. Really love these.
My dad had one when I was growing up so I've always been partial to them. Really looks the part though! As said lots before - getting a nicer tach is the next step for sure.
How was it lowered? Just let some gas out?
