hey my uncle has offered me his poo brown merc i was just wondering if are there any lowering kits avalable for a late 80's 190e that would deck it on its ring peice. i cant afford air ride and i don't want to cut the springs, although i would chop a couple out if i could find a kit. just don't want to drive around on 2 coils haha!
thanks

You can easily get hold of -60mm springs from places like ECP etc

I'm placing a bet that it is a typo. I'm laying my money on he would prefer springs, but will cut if needed, but doesn't want to roll on 2 coils.

Beats me why anybody would ever need to buy lowering springs for a 190E!! Ive had 6 of 'em and you can do a serious slam-job by cutting a few coils off without any adverse effects or the risk of the springs dislocating on full droop - the standard springs are just so long!

sorry not wrote that very well i was rushing, i want the shocks and springs(full kit) or coilies if possable! To go as low as possable and if needs be to go that bit more i would chop the odd coil out but i didnt want to take standard springs and run around on 1 or 2 coils thats all.

Have you actually looked at the sporings on the 190?? If you had you would realise from the length of them that there is no way youd be rolling on 1 or 2 coils!! They are very, very long!! You could lay it on its ass and still have a good half dozen coils left on the front. As I say, Ive owned 6 of these lowered (lots) by chopping standard springs and using No;1 spring pads and done another 30 or more at my old shop in Colchester without a single problem. By all means go and spend a load of money on some kit - but in my opinion you will be wasting your money. Just make sure your dampers are in good condition, if not replace them with good quality standard items and see what spring pads youre running, they will have 1 to 4 notches on them (1 being the lowest). Then cut the springs. I usually do 3 coils at the front and two at the rear and that gives a great drop with very slight rake and a lovely, slightly firmed up ride. There are other factors such as tyre size to consider when calculating the amount to chop too. To give you a clue the car below ran 3 coils of front , 2 off rear, No:1 pads and had 205/40x17s all round. (I know the wheels are very dated but it was 12 years ago!)
