first post, so please be gentle been lurking for a while, some nice motors standard & modded so thought it was time to post up mine... thought not old enough to be on here but suddenly realised it's now 18yrs old. imported 2004, we're 2nd owner. 660cc 3 cyl engine, no not a bike engine, 9k redline, Kclass car in Japan so restricted to 64bhp, 140kph got 83k on clock, with 2.5k from going to Le Mans then Ypres in June. i'm sure there will be a few members from the 'other' forums i'm on so hello if they are. next to something bigger... just for a laugh to see how many horses have gone missing, 59/64, not too bad in the sunshine in France...

Awesome ride. I've always preferred these to the Cappuccino. The Suzuki is a neater/more coherent design.....but the Beat is quirkier, funkier and more of an oddball which is always a winning formula in my eyes. It's funny you should post this up now - only last weekend I saw a yellow Beat in Bristol (Cribbs Causeway) I love the interior - I assume yours has the 'standard issue' zebra print seats? Need photos....I think those seats are epic ;D Thaks for posting your car up and welcome to Retro Rides. Hope to see you at one of the meets somtime

cheers guys yellow not the rarest colour, probably BRG version Z? AZ-1 definitely rare! 3 or 4 in these septic isles the only pic i've got of interior, sorry.... no plans for modding, but in japan there's one with a 2.0 type R of some description fitted, 1 being fitted at moment in US,, a 'busa just finished in US on youtube, a 2.2 prelude R motor here in UK & an R1 motor was started i think here as well

Welcome to RR! I love Honda Beats! I've never seen one in real life though. Such a cool little car, the engine sounds like it would be loads of fun! Out of interest, how did they restrict it to 64BHP, and is it easy to de-restrict?

Out of interest, how did they restrict it to 64BHP, and is it easy to de-restrict? not too sure how its restricted? possibly at its limit anyway, near enough 100bhp per litre with standard ECU 1st - 4th redline @ 9k, in 5th its @ 8.5k and thats at 140kph so with more power the gearing will restrict it anyway. it has no problem hitting the limiter in any gear Cappo's & AZ-1's with chipped ECU, turbo work etc will reach 120bhp heres the rolling road graph: nice straight power & torque lines although not too much there!
