I've been to the local flea market, and found some nice audio equipment, a Technics SA-500K receiver and two Dux sound project 401 speakerboxes. Here's some crappy pics taken with my phone, i'll get a proper camera soon, I promise ;D The text says it's dead. When I opened it I found a blown fuse, hopefully that's the cause of it's death and i'm able to resurrect it ;D Somebody missunderstood the 500w and thought it was the output power, these were sold as 55w. But i'm sure it's quite a bit more powerful than todays 55w stereos ;D It weighs something like 30 pounds Naked rear end Does somebody know if it's safe to try and bridge it? Or will it burst into flames? This is one of the boxes, I got them for 40€, one of them is not working at all, and the midrange is broken in the other one. Anybody have any recomendations on opening these? Apparently they're glued and nailed or something... Both should be from the late 70's, so I got these glasses to go with 'em ;D

Lovely. I've got a few bits of Technics audio kit from the same era. Unfortunately its all in storage.
Can you get access to the speaker cabs from removing the actual speakers?

We'll i've rubbed the electronics inside both the amp and the speakers with the all-in-one-miracle-cure-for-everything-crc-5-56, and now the speakers sound kinda decent, and everything works, exept the 4,5" speakers. I'll put some new ones in later. The amp is also working faultless, the treatment even removed the noises from the switches and volume control. Some pics of the amp illuminated and cleaned, it had green bulbs, but i think it looks better with standard ones. Now i just need some retro headphones...

I quite like the speakers. They look brutal.
Did you put switch lube (or wd-40 works) on the switches and knobs?

Got any old non-bang&olufsen headphones you'd like to send to finland? There isn't exactly a big market for this stuff over here, this was the only thing even close on the local action site... well... at least they're cheap ;D here's something interesting i also found...

An update and a teaser on a project, or whatever you'd call it. I've bought 2 old Radionette speakers, probably from the 60's I'll be using these in a audio system i'm trying to put togheter in my ex-garage, now living room shelf ;D Pics when i can afford a camera. Sounds totaly curse word, so i'll have to buy some new speakers to put in them. I've also got a new receiver, a Nikko sta - 4030, probably from the early eighties, but my curse word camera phone is no more, so no pics.. So now i'll have to buy an actual camera, which means that in the future you might be able to look at my pics without making your eyes bleed. I've got a rather stupid question too, but i guess it's better to ask than to destroy my amps. It's rather messy, but i hope you'll understand: the boxes in the middle are two way switches. Is it ok to put a swith on just one of the speaker cables? And here's a challenger i saw the other day ;D
