OK, so the heading is a bit misleading. But I need you guys to help me here please. I have been offered this car with No MOT, No Tax , but..... 1990 model BMW 318i , 2 door, with sunroof, electric everything. One lady owner, 114k miles, pretty spotless interior' no wear on seat bolster, 2 small dents on passenger door, and rear quarter, begining of "normal rust" on rear wheel arches, and a small fist sized lump below the rear towing hook. FSH, manual. Got Stainless exhaust. And of course, WHITE, which I like on these. No MOT, and I guess Tax about to, or already expired, but they are part of buying a 19 year old car. So not something to break the deal for me. I like idea of lowering sensibly, sexy German wide/dish wheels, and very little else, Nicola is pushing for Banded steels with a bit of strech and Flames ;D ;D ;D ;D Maybe much later a race replica look with some graphics and stickers. What do you think ?? What is it worth ? I know £80 is scrap value, so views on having it on the road. PICS : OK guys, gals.... let me know your views and watch outs. Thanks, Rian

On the monitor I'm using at the minute, the black looks really dark, and the steel wheels just look pitch black. Looks class, go for it. Are you being given it, or buying it?

Good man, white's a great choice I'm no expert but any two door shell in decent condition is worth at least 250 quid if not more, especially if it's been looked after - for iS or various other conversions.

Have been offered it for £250 as it is. Will go take a decent look in the morning, at things like bushes, front jacking points which it seems do rust. The 4 tyres on there are all good, and the spare will be replaced with a better one by the seller. Interior does not look like 114k miles and 19 years at all. From the basic look about I did in less than 10 minutes (real time) earlier, it seems very honest, and I would guess there is not any reason it would not pass the MOT. Keep the opinions and advice comming please.

Stick some chrome bumpers on it, slam it, a set of rims like ive posted in your other thread and NOTHING ELSE......that would be how id run it!!!

Definitely take it at that price I would say. You would nearly pay 8 times that for the same here in Ireland.

If it is as clean as it looks in the photos, then I guess £250 is reasonable.
It strikes me as a bit high TBH, but then I would be concerned about what it might fail the MoT on - emissions in particular on older cars just seems to be a complete 'roll of the dice' these days.

I'd go for it! My brother's got one and we nearly got another one yesterday. Got beat on eBay by £1.60. Ended up sellng for £251.99 or something close. No tax and about 4 months MOT. A bit gutted, but hay ho, theres more out there. Like Skyway said, you don't need to do much. My bro's E30 has just been lowered about 60mm IIRC and has different rims and thats it. He's changing the colour though when his got the cash to white. White E30's look ace!

You'll need a turtleneck (or at least a dickey) added to the wardrobe!

I had a 320i and loved it, it was a prefacelift chrome bumper model. www.e30zone.net are awesome for info if you end up getting it. It did use more fuel than I though though, had 80k on the clock and FSH and returned 19mpg at best! And thats when I drove it like a granny, the 1.8 should be better though as its a four pot - they handle great too! Go for it mate, you won't be dissapointed with the way they drive Heres mine

Nice one Dude, just buy it....you won't regret it.
Been putting lots of comments inthe other thread, forgot to add anything in this one!
My mate Tom, who happens to have a large space down at Area 52, does nothing but play with E30's.....he's got more spares than a BMW parts dept! (Some pretty cool/rare stuff too..)
If you get the car, might be time for a trip to the bunker. Try out the facilities and get lots of advice from Tom. He's pretty handy at working on them/repairing them too (you should see some of the cars he's building!)

Thanks Dave, I would drive like a granny too.
I want primarily show for starters, not go.
My daily has over 200bhp, if I need it, and I rarely use it in anger.
So the 1800 should be just fine.
