Hi everybody. I posted a while back on the general boards for some help ID'ing a load of scrap metal I found which turned out to be an Austin A30/35. I was planning on making a sculpture out of it, which is for my final exam piece for A Level art. It is now nearing completion. Some of you may not consider this to be "art" and that is fair enough, I welcome all comments even if you don't like it, positive or negative. I am posting it here since some people may find it interesting. I hope so anyway So here is how it was found: More to follow...

Could have left it where it was and done some kind of 'andy goldworthy' style piece with it. Looking forward to seeing your results

Next I began to try out the pieces on a scafolding pole like so:

Now it's starting to get a bit more exciting, and more like what it will look like when done. I just need to put the rest of the pieces on it so that the pole is totally covered, and then take it into school and install it all there. Only thing is I don't know if I should paint it or leave it rusty. What do you think?

Heres an idea. Paint the pole like a maypole, and then have the bits of car as the figures (not made to look like figures though), and have cables running from the top of the pole to the bits of car

Matte black the pole, makes it invisible.
Did you have to do that module where you basically just write essays on paintings for a whole term? I curse word hated that...

very interesting good aspect of catching the moment between rusting parts and making a statement which says nothing is ever scrap till the crusher stops grinding like it lots
