Hi, I got hold of old stock of Smiths gauges. My mate Jimmy found it and bought it for me. They are 50 Amp, Volt and Temp in degrees. These are from 70s and I have naver seen them before and it goes well with my 80s boxy design of my cases. I have sank them in to top of the cowel. I will mount them in from of me then glass fibre it so it is integral to my dashboard. Cheers Atchi

Hi, I have managed to use Aluminium angles to mount them in the line of vision as well as access to switches better while I'm strapped in with 4/5 points harnesses. It sits out quite far! Without my steering wheel but my speedo is driectly front of me. I will use fibre galss to fill the gap and also to make it solid. cheers Atchi

Hi, Wiring saga continues! Today, I had a chance to go in my garage for 2 hrs. So I made a mounting plate which is mounted to car body with 4 rubber mounts for vibration. Then I used what spare time I had to mounted on. There is still little bit of water damaged to deal with in summer month but getting there. I have now correct wiring harness connection from fuse box to my fuel pump. Cheers Atchi

Hi, I have been thinking of starting engine and so on... But I have to fit my exhaust to do so, then my table lift is in the way. I have spare steels so I have decieded to make a 1' lift on my table lift. This is during assembly. This is when I have fitted and lifted up. This way i can lift my mini and able to have access to do my exhaust also! Cheers Atchi

Hi, After trying to fit twin bike exhaust cans, I came to realised that I need to have flat floor. Also, I need to tuck well into rear balance to look right. So, I bought Ducatti cans and started to make twin setup again with a new balance as well. So this is what it looks like so far. I need to get floor material for me to cut out but I will install my engine next week... I hope to start connecting wires. Cheers Atchi

Hi, I looked under the car in the boot floor and just went ahead with it. It's still here.. Not any more! Trial fit of Ducatti twin exhaust system I'm making. Rear balance to be made again. Side enclosing panel is made but not sure what to do as yet. My rear beam axel is made again so once I know, I can start to mount everything to see where to cut recess. Cheers Atchi

Thanks luckygti. I got plate of steel from Nissan today, so I can make a new boot floor. The steel is higher grade than what mini is made from.... well it is Nissan Qashqai steel. I think I need to put in swage lines for strengthening but part from that I hope it will be easy job!
I shall srat up my plasma cutter.
Cheers Atchi

Hi, This weekend, I managed to work a bit more on my car. Over the week, I managed to get large size steel sheet from Nissan press shop. So I measured and cut to the size I need and using 1" CDS and angle steel. I made this panel. It will make my boot floor flat but with some strength.... I hope. I will start to weld bit by bit then start mounting everything for the start of engine! Cheers Atchi

I've just read your thread and I'm in awe.
I absolutely adore both your mini and your Mk1 swift Gti which must be one of a handful left in the UK!
The mini is my favourite car I'd love one but can't afford one and I own a mk3 Suzuki Swift in Subaru Justy guise.
Keep up the epic work!

Hi, I too have just read your entire thread,
One word, stunning.
I used to own a 1986 mk1 suzuki swift gti, bought it in 1994, sold it in 1997 to buy my first AW11, I really miss my mk1 swift.
I'm on the look out for one,
Keep up your epic work, I know it's not easy with kids, I've got four, then again, I'm not building an epic car.
Well done so far, I'm in awe.

Hi Oukie, Nice! I had a same colour car until 2008, it was F Reg mind. In my opinion, it was most fun car I bought ever.I had CRX Vt, Volvo 480, mk1 CRX, AUDI Allroad..... name but a few. Ofcouse I had my mini as well. My car did 43mpg and able to chase Jaguar S-type_R upto 120mph(I got scared) in std form! Anyway, here is more update! My air box adaptor is made to take a carbon case air filter... Thanks to Ian! Cheers Atchi
