Well, hopefully my asss will stop itching for a toy now. Bought of Eay, it is still over in Paignton , Devon. Probably paid a bit more than I should have, but hey... I needed it. Ideally would like it to be in Sinclair Oil Corporation colours to go with bus in final guise, but for now, just a cleanup, and maybe some polish.

Ah Rian - at least your ride will fit in the back of the van when done. I'm figuring out how to bring the NSU along... That looks extremely well looked after. Hope it'll keep the fingers busy until you're out under the van again. How you getting it back to your place then?

Hope it'll keep the fingers busy until you're out under the van again. How you getting it back to your place then? Hi John, It sems tidy, came with Mot to October as well. I am having to traipse down to Devon with the car and my bike trailer, wish I had a 4x4 or estate right now. New car being delivered in march on new reg plate will be Chev Captiva, so up to the job.... but for now it is trailer and car. I have posted a thread asking about courier/haulage/help/free loading, bit no response yet. It will cost me around £70 in company petrol, and around 9hrs or more on the road. But like some on this board the distance does not scare me, I just have to remember that i am spending way more than it is worth in the real world... but hey, its my choice. Hope someone does have an opportunity to drag it up here.

Do the horn in red, it needs a bit of red at the front. maybe red pedals too. Also, the stem and headset look very similar to bicycle stuff, maybe the whole front end could be replaced with modern mountain bike bits. Like this

Just to update this thread and also following on from my 'mini road trip' thread which can be seen here: retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=54612 - I decided to take a little jolly down to Paignton seafront today to collect Mr Grizzmeisters bike and bring it back to Bristol (a shorter journey for him to collect it and he's delivering some wheels for me, so it's win win WIN!!) I'd decided to take the new Camry 'parts collector & project donor' to give it another 'getting to know you' run despite clocking up 325 effortless miles in it yesterday (after repairing the seized brakes on the roadside 10 mins after buying it!) My GF also came along, lured by the promise of fish & chips on the seafront.....and offer she could not possibly refuse! So here is a little story to chart the latest step in Rian's PC50 project. 10am: GF, Jed (the dog) and myself head off to Paignton from Bristol. The M5 is still suffering from the recent snow and it gets worse as the journey progresses.....most of the M5 still has lane 3 under snow which often spreads across onto the middle lane as well. Makes for tense driving! Throw in some rain and the visibility worsens dramatically (this shot taken before it got really wet/poor vision) Camry is proving superb with this sort of journey. I'm growing to like this car already. We arrive in Paignton and collect the bike from the current owner. Obligatory "bike now loaded/current owner" shot ;D Next step is to fulfill my promise and buy the good lady her fish & chips. We head to the seafront where we dine on Paignton's finest cuisine.....I sure know how to treat a lady ;D The local bird population takes a fancy to my lunch.... .....but Jed is very VERY protective of anything that resembles fish. Or chips. Or any food for that matter! He soon sees off the locals. Here's the shot to sum up the day: Bike, car, fish & chips, seafront.....PERFECT!! Gotta love the RR way of life. Loving my new parts carrier....at this rate I might have to find another donor for the MR2 V6?? I keep getting this overwhelming desire to take a grinder to the springs. Jed takes us for a walk on the beach and along the pier....he loves the seaside. I splash out and give Miss MM 20p (10 x 2p) to spend in the arcades on the pier. Wow - what a treat! Fish & chips.....then this sudden display of throwing my money around! The journey home was a lot LOT more tense - no taking photos on this leg of the journey, just 100% intense concentration. Back home safe & sound - Rian, here is your new bike and a pretty cool one it is too....I reckon it should be left 'as is' for that authentic look. Maybe a Sinclair sticker strategically placed and you're done (one can make you the decals if you wish?) So there you go....another mini adventure for me. Another chapter in the story of this wicked little bike. Looking forward to the next part of the story - and that's your job Grizz. ;D

Thats a great write up Bruce. Your pics, especially the one with all the suspects in one pic made me laugh out real loud. Jed is a lovely looking dog, and for those who do not know him.... look at his own movie in this thread. s74.photobucket.com/albums/i251/bruceholder/L300/Snow/?action=view¤t=Snow101.flvMovie in this thread: www.retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=54383&page=5Thanks for collecting the moped, and also for waiting for the seller to get there, when you had arranged a time for collection. (Seller was not there as agreed) Thanks also to Miss MM for putting up with you/me and going out to be spoiled at the seaside with food and entertainments..... Ms Grizz loves the machines too ;D I think it looks a bit rougher than the initial photos alluded to, but hey, it is 34 years old. I would agree with you , on keeping it as is, or doing a full resto, so for now it will definitely stay as it is. Just need to sort a key for it, and also get the paperwork done, and insured on my name. Look forward to getting your wheels to you this weekend and dragging it here to play with. Once again, Thanks a million for fetching it from Devon for me.
