Hello, Just joined the forum after reading about it in a mag. Had an ongoing project for a couple of years now, owned the car 4yrs though. Had to rescue it a couple of years back from a garage who'd completely f--ked it, so I basically started from scratch with absolutely no knowledge. My aim is to get it ready for June 09 for a few 1/4 mile runs. This ain't for the purist out there! Basic spec is; MGB GT, Sebring arches, fibreglass bonnet/tailgate 3.9litre Rover V8, Janspeed twin turbo conversion, intercooled, TVR Taraka manifold, EFI with megasquirt/megajolt, LT77 'box Interior is stripped, caged, buckets, custom dash and centre console Full race spec fuel system SD1 shortened rear axel, Phantom Grip, cosworth brakes Front has huge Jag 4-pots, vented discs Also has a 5-stud conversion with Compomotive MO alloys. Only got these pics at the moment; what ya think?!

300bhp/320lbs/ft estimate when it was non-intercooled and running badly set up twin suck-thru carbs.
Should be 320bhp with the EFI, intercooler and other bits.
You wait until I start a thread for my fully forged engine build. Got all the parts bar the crank, cam and lifters, plus a few bits. Going for a mech cam, solid lifters, and lots of boost, aiming for 400bhp in that, but it wont be until 2010! ;p)

some poeple may remember the car was featured in Retro Cars about 4 1.2 years back. Well I bought the car, but the owner shafted me as the engine was knackered; I did 120miles of normal driving before both head gaskets went lol. Then got stung for £2.5k by a well known engine builder/scammer, plus caused over £1.5k worth of damage! And tha's not including the missing parts he stole; I've not had much luck with this car to be honest!

Cool. Me and the brother (on here somewhere as Phil5343) did a Rover V8 into an MGB Roadster... it's made a real animal of a car. The only problem we have found is that the LT77 gearbox seems a little on the weak side for the power.... if we had to do it again we'd probably use an R380 or something a bit stronger.

Yeah, previous owner had grafted a cosworth whaletail onto the back, badly. That was the first thing to get binned! I'm not going for show look with this car, because I'd rather spend the money on making it go like the proverbial from the shovel. only body mods are removing the wing, making the bonnet a few kg's lighter and cutting a hole for the plenum. Rest will have to wait!

I actually have the photos from a photoshoot that was done for MG Rover mag, a month before I bought the car, the month they went bust lol!!! Typical. Externally there's not much difference, but under the bonnet/interior is completely different. I've done a complete bare metal respray on the inside and engine bay/gearbox tunnel - which I stripped by hand with an angle grinder/sander/knife and lots of blood sweat and tears hehe. I have over 200 photos documenting my work so far. just wish i had the money to sort it otherwise it'd be done a year ago. This is defo not a chequebook car, although adding the bills up I'd probably feint lol, over £10k so far. Rovers ain't cheap to tune, shoulda gone Cosworth or LS1!!!

Nice car, I'd love to build something similar, but will have to stick to the Zetec swap in my MGB GT. I remember reading the article in RetroCars, still got the mag somewhere. Keep us posted, and more pics please!
