I saw this car a few years ago when I was thinking of doing my Sebring conversion (and how I would go about it) when I was at MG Silverstone. It looks better setup than it did then, it was for sale on the Practical Performance Car stand.
I like the look of it, and love the engine idea, but the fitment of the wings made my sprayer convince me to go the 'tricky way' with mine. Cracking car, and it looks better than it did before.

Hey!
Thanks for the great comments guys means a lot to me! The outside probably looks worse than it did when I bought it - loads of chips around the wings now lol due to working on it, but I guess it'd pass for a semi-rat-look for the time being lol.
As for the engine, yeah it sounds amazing, probably the main reason I bought it (plus I love MGBs). The exhausts are 3" straight through from the turbos into side exit cherry bombs, yes it does scare small children!
The only gripe I have with it at the moment is the new seats, they're a wee bit wider than the old cobras I had and the driverrs one caught the handbrake, so I had to move it, and now the steering wheel is slightly off-centre! Ah well, good excuse for a hydro handbrake, classic drift machine anyone?!
Will get some more photos when i can guys. My most proud part is the hot-rod inspired dash i build my self, looks like something from Boyd Coddington! ;p)

okay found bunch of photos from about 2 years ago after I'd rescued the car from darkest Devon: How the car was when i found it (in my garage after 2 day round trip liverpool-sheffield-devon-liverpool-sheffield with a Landy and trailer ;D) Started to strip the engine bay; Looks like previous owner had just sprayed matt black over everything, no primer, even over the sealant and anti-rust sh!te which was ALL over the car; Nicely primered engine bay; and interior, which took literally months to strip, removed about 10kgs of sound deadening and sealant etc; New spanky aluminium uber-lightweight flywheel and twin AP Racing clutch (not cheap!); Home made battery box, mounted to original MG battery access plate; ANd one of the beasty turbos;

Just come to me, this is a chrome bumper model, so the front axle has had some work to fit that V8, don't suppose you could get me some up close shots of the center section?
Then again looking at it you have the Rubber bumper steering arm, and have cut away the inner wings, think this gets around most of the issues.

You don't need to make any changes to the front axel/cross-member on any model of the MGB to fit a V8 unless you're using a ford or chebby lump, particularly the ford for sump clearance as far as I know. My MG has a standard cross-member; granted the front crank pulley is 3-4mm from the antiroll bar, but it aint touching it! This is a Rover V8, so no issues there. The only major modifications for chrome bumper models are the top of the gearbox tunnel requires raising, and maybe the rear shelf near the firewall. I didn't carry out the conversion so don't know, but the heads are a gnats whisker from the rear shelf! Obviously new engine mounts are required but these are peanuts.

I think you may be right Nathan, but I think that cutting the X-Member has been circumvented by fitting smaller rocker covers. For this reason, late post 77 shells and V8 shells had the taller crossmembers, which according to Doug Smith throws out the geometry a little bit, and you can't put one onto the other . Cracking car, I remember hearing it, and it did sound evil. Is the car based on an Rubber Bumper Shell? It seems to have some R/B features , but the shell looks pretty clean from your shots and doesn't seem too shabby!

Been a while since my last update, but then again I haven't done much until recently! New custom blended trumpet base. Holes have been filled in with aluminium putty and machined to match radius. Shot of my custom made 5-stud hubs, with 285mm vented/grooved discs and huge Jag 4-pots Removed a large section of front panel(s) to make room for new intercooler and mount Removed old, flimsy radiator brackets (both sides) . . . And made some little ones out of 3mm steel, will be welded directly to chassis Oil filter remounted right at front of engine bay, in cold air flow, since I'm not running an oil cooler (for the moment) Engine bay mock-up, with new 600bhp-rated intercooler, heavily modified pipework and 80mm billet throttle body; just got plenum to do now.

14500rpm - the flywheel AND clutch weigh less than just my old flywheel did, which was a lightened cast OEM. They're very light!

HOLY SCHMITT that looks amazing!! The gearbox and axle are probably sitting there looking at each other and bricking themselves, perhaps it's best to not have traction ;D ;D
