The Minis in the Italian Job (the original) not to mention the Miura, Black Fiat Dinos etc Yeah!!!! those fiat dinos could be my favourite film-related motors, super super cool. You just cannot get cooler than those mafia guys in black suits driving them around.

The ulitimate retro movie car besides "herbie' is this ..... star of at least 3 movies ,fibre tilt front,427 Chevy (no curse word...) 4 speed muncie rock crusher,Olds diff ,built for go not show... matt Black 55 Chevy. PS,besides being the first "car " movie i ever saw,it was also the second "road " movie i ever watched at the cinema ,the first was Easy Rider" both of which influenced me to build a chopper and a string of overpowered dangerous adreneline pumps. same car all polished up for "American Graffiti"

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

This one probably dosent count, but the car movie that influenced me the most (and still does) was rallying of the 1980's that my nan and grandad had. Id watch it every time i went over there sucking up all the information i could. Henri toivonen in the delta S4 dancing down the tarmac stages, and stig blomqvist's balletic feet in the footwell view of his quattro. mental mental stuff. I still want to make my car into a firebreathing grounp B monster now (i think i may be half way there!)

It's a 'Persuit Special' not an Interceptor, the car was never supposed to be coined that name but for some reason people picked up on the "Last of the V8 Interceptors" comment in Mad Max 2 and it became known by that name.
In two lane Blacktop the featured cars were actually the real deal and were run regulary at drag strips. Unlike most film cars ("interceptor" included) which were slow fakes of the real thing.
Ultimate retro ride imho is the truck in Duel.

Ultimate retro ride imho is the truck in Duel. On that note, I'll mention the haunted motor from The Car. No idea what it was, but damn it was eerie. Also the pimp-tastic "Corvorado" that was built around a Corvette/Eldorado, from Live And Let Die...you know, the one that looked a bit like this:

On that note, I'll mention the haunted motor from The Car. No idea what it was, but damn it was eerie. * There were six Cars built for filming by Barris Kustoms in Lynnwood, California: one main car of steel and five fiberglass replicas. Three replicas were destroyed in the climactic explosion scene and the other two replicas were wrecked in rollovers. The gloss-black main Car is a custom Lincoln Mark III with a locked 4.11 differential (to allow easier spinning), heavy-duty suspension, roll bar, safety harness, and amber-tinted glass. The top is lowered and the beltline raised. Twelve craftsmen built the main Car in six weeks. from IMDB
