i totally forgot about getting panhard rod brackets cut befor chrimbo, same as the front shock towers. tried to get as much as possible done but sometimes you need to start building befor you can design the next peice. all those bits plus exhaust brackets will get designed and installed in a couple of weeks.
2009 I'm gonna start a couple of new cars later in the year.one for my wive and one for a local bloke. both will be better than anything ive done so far.far more trick and totally different.
find the more you build the more you learn and the more my imagination grows ;D. one thing with this car and the mini is ive set the front ends up slightly different. because I'm still learning about front suspension its kinda trial and error until there on the road and i can get feedback. both owners know this and understand their cars may need to come back for final tweeking.
a good 2009 to you. still 08 here at the mo.

There are a lot of builders out there that cant do this and to progress with the build they are working on start hacking about the new work which is a shame as then its never the job it could have been

How does that bump steer gauge work? Or is it beyond a few lines in a forum?

How does that bump steer gauge work? Or is it beyond a few lines in a forum? bolt the plate up to the hub. plate has measurments on it. put rack in the place you think it should go. wind up suspension and read the dial gauge to see how much the front toes in or toes out. alter rack possition till you get it spot on. prostreetpop. inner centre section is narrowed. do that first as its lengh is determined by the ball centres of the arms with the rack in the right place for no bump steer. then the outer arms were lenghtened. then jig back up with the casing on . move wheels so they don't hit anything on full locks(mot failure) and shorten outer casing to suit. you have to be carefull because if say you took 4" out the inner bit you may only need to take out 3" from the case. you could build youre front end round a standard rack that way it wouldnt need narrowing but all the pivot point have to line up correctly. you need a few tools as well. used for rack narrowing, chopsaw, lathe, grinder, press, tube jig,tig welder, centre punch, drill and assorted odds plus the jig i use for determining the correct rack height and width.
