Reading another thread, I think this deserves one of it's own. Excluding freebies, what's the least you've ever paid for a running, drive away car? I'll kick this one off....
£3.50 for a Anglia super.

Had 2 free MK3 Cavaliers, including an ecowreck SRi! Cheapest car I've actually bought though was another MK3 Cavalier, that was £72 with a few months test and a couple of months tax.

Got given a 2.0 Sierra Sapphire - it all worked but had serious rust issues. Paid £20 for a MK1 XR4x4, fully road legal with about 2 weeks T&T left on it

I will get round to finishing it at some point

Back in about '89, I swapped a packet of Walkers cheese and onion crisps (unopened) for a '79 Datsun 100A FII 4 door in gold with 4 months T&T but no door bottoms... I used and seriously abused it on a daily basis before grenading the engine the day before the MOT ran out I was given a Rover P5B about 7 years ago - the only things worth keeping were the engine and 'box...

I paid a tenner for my Metro Turbo. It would have run if the carb wasn't gummed up, I stripped it ready to weld the body before I got it running though.

I've had loads of free ones over the years, a funny one was Triumph Dolomite that had sat unused for a couple of weeks out side the ladies house as she came out one morning and it wouldnt start, when i looked at it it turned out someone had nicked the coil off it.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Sovereign for £10.
Up to it's axles in mud in a field, I stripped it for bits, wieghed in the rest and made substantially more than I bought it for.

I'll kick this one off.... £3.50 for a Anglia super. 3.50 is more or less free, unless it was 40 years ago ;D ive had lots of free, and some very cheap, cars including 30 quid 1300 escort, i used it 18 months and then broke for spares, HA viva van for a tenner ( in 1986) , and a '69 scimitar se5 from freecycle

I've had bazillions of sub-£100 cars, some good, some utter dross. Agaisnt the thread rules, but best result ever: £0, from a total stranger. Passed over by many as 'DOA', an hours tinkering and an hours washing, MoT, done. Super. Our Russ got this Alfa 155 off Wakely for the price of a bag of chips. Had about 3 days T&T left on it. We spent about 5 hours prepping it for MoT and it sailed through. Rather foolishly I let him have my VW LT and I had this off him. I got £395 for the Alfa, he sold the van for a grand. ;D
