There's just something about using film and film cameras which is really pleasing and rewarding. DSLR's are great, but I suppose the thinking behind it is the same as why we drive retro cars - a mid-range Ford Mondeo can do a lot of things better than any of my retro cars, but I could never bring myself to own one. I do own a digital camera - a Fuji S5700. It's a nice camera and does what I want it to do pretty well. But for absolute pleasure and creativity I take one of my film cameras out.

Apologies for exhuming this one yet again but I thought I'd share my latest addition. Found in a charity shop, £30 the lot - I'd never normally shell out that much on retro camera gear, but it spoke to me and in the end, someone else paid for it ;D Haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but the lenses seem to work fine, not Zeiss ones unfortunately but still very useful. Could do with finding one for very close-up work though. If anyone can recommend a decent book on 'real' photography, it'd be good, as I've only ever used 35mm compacts, or messed around on digitals until they looked passable

I've been using a 1977 Olympus Trip for a little while now. It's taken a while to get used to waiting to see what you've got again.
