Thanks for the response! I've ummed and arrrghed and oooeeered about the hubcaps but with the amount of chrome on the car I reckon they'll stay.
Tyres are 205/60/13, nowhere would supply me with Coopers tyres but I called Sinton/Tyrespec and they did a set and free delivery. Apparently Cooper are suffering as a result of the new EU legislation on manufacturing or some European guff. Retail price is about £80 each but they're on offer at about £72. I really wanted white lettering but didn't want a tyre made by Hercules or some sort of recycled flip flops.
Wheels have been banded by 2 inches, no clearance issues at all (thankfully as I'm a bit measure once, cut many many times...), similarly, I don't think tyres any wider would have been wise, did consider 215/55/13 but Cooper Cobra, what a cool name or anything.
I'm still kinda excited... Guess I'd better update my sig.

Definetly keeping the caps, too much chrome on the car to get away with plain black wheels and they are a bstd to remove so help with security I guess. Anyhoo, for today, I have been mostly fitting some trim around the rear window. If I'd been organised enough I would have bought enough to do the windscreen too... It's one of those jobs I've been meaning to do for ages. Front is still shrunk and nasty Getting there Oh, and just chasing up a twin cam head........

Definitely keep the hubs, then again I'm biased as I'm doing exactly the same to the wheels on my Viva. i really really love this Victor! Vinyl roof and wheels complete it and make it look so right!

Yo Vambo.. steering is fine, you'd never know although I'm still pondering sticking EPS in it, I've got all the gumph from an 04 Corsa and one or those variable rate control boxes. The tyres are only 30mm wider than stock I think.
Can't help with an estate shell, the last two I've seen were well past it and now both deceased. Rumours of a chap near here with a field full of them though so will investigate.

Out of interest did you have any problems putting the windscreen trim in? I need to replace the trim on my Viva as it's gone horribly yellow

Window trim was a doddle. I'd been putting it off as I feared it would be a nightmare but only took 5 minutes. Got my mate to help do the long sections as it's easier than reaching across the car. Will put pics up when I do the front. Of course this is assuming the Viva is the same style...... Thanks for the comments folks

Post has been good to me today, nice recon steering rack from fleabay, it's right-hand drive and everything and been asked to do a photo shoot on Saturday so hope that goes well... someone needs a seventies car (well, who doesn't).
