this could get quite sad quite quick.... no prizes for why this one bought it But it was a 17,000 mile from new one owner car... This one was a real shame. A mint car needing minor "this and that" which though neglect became more work to restore than was viable for me, I sold it to a mate to restore and he scrapped the shell after stripping it. Not mine, but a mates, and we did some miles together in it until it was written off by an uninsured driver. this one is apparently being restored by its current owner but I don't hold out that much hope gone. Street scrapped it. ^^^ again, it was a mates not mine but I did a lot of miles in her. Written off by an idiot in a Xantia. Both these Cortinas are since scrapped by subequent owners. Think the Mini is dead now too. Beautiful little HA, no longer on the DVLA computer ^^^ last seen rotting in a local garden, well beyong rescue. Not sure about the saloon, but the estate at the back is scrap. I owned both these. Maybe I'll add some more later, depending on what I've got in photobucket (which is playing up for me right now)

My SEH'd manta. Broken for parts after realizing what the parts on it were worth and how much effort it would take to keep on the road. Easily the best car I have owned and will own for a while:(. Slightly ratty but you can't argue with 38mpg 140bhp and the ability to swallow a fridge .

I'm quite impressed that out of all the heaps I have owned, only one took a one with trip with me. £100 with 8 months T&T and the headgasket went as the MOT came up. A Bargain suprisingly bloomin nice car to drive. mm bad taste wheels/spoiler/exhaust combo. the new owner about to put it in a pile no sadness from me on this one Unlike looking at AKs pics

Abso-stuffing-lutely loads of 'em, here's just a few... Mad as only really wanted a head gasket and was very tidy. I think this was the one that was scrapped. I loved it too, only a 1.9 n/a diesel but had Morettes, bonnet scoop, tasty non-gen alloys and went like a flaming rocket on vege oil. Engine lives on in another BX still out there somewhere. Recently had a purge on Photobucket so managed to bin loads of pictures of others.

My Fiat 124 sport (first car.) I sold it a couple of years ago, and it turned up on Ebay recently looking very sorry for itself. Had some good times in this thing.

I would guess that most of my old motors ended up in the scrapyard... here's a few I know did... FD Ventora, just need a little 'tidying' Favorit, head gasket went, so bye bye... It's replacement, Nissan Sunny... £120 with 12 months ticket (from D. Bluncket motors), ran it for a month or 2 until the head gasket went. (I think... didn't bother to investigate too much) Comedy window winder 'repair' ;D MK1 cav 2.0 auto, written off a week after I sold it... MK5 'Tina, low mileage and 1 owner for like 18 years... I sold it, it was written off while parked outside the new owners house...

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

This came to a sticky end on a wet roundabout due to rear camber issues as a result of lowering coupled with my inability to drive properly.

What a depressing thread! Especially all the FD's... I have owned 16 FDs. Of which I know of only 4 still on the road. One with the 3.3, one has now a 2.9 24V Ford in it and the last was the Chevy V8 jobber I did. The forth was actually scrapped by a later owner but got rescued from the yard by a mate who has since restored it. One I sold and is supposedly being restored. The other 9 are dead and recycled. You don't want to know how many FDs we stripped for spares over the years I was into them. What is sad is a mate of mine got hold of the club records from like the mid/late 1990s and ran the registrations of all the FDs which were members cars back then. And at least 50% were long since not taxed or no longer on the computer.
