Just to try and cheer you up Edd, have a shot of your car from the Ace Cafe on the awards night. Please forgive the graininess.....taken @ 10.30pm with no flash so hard to get it looking crisp! Cracking looking car Edd and in such good condition too....

looks a hell of alot better on alloys... the standard wheels just make it look like a collapsed metro... which ya see enough of on sh*TTy council estates in 1998

Thanks Bruce, that does cheer me up. It broke again yesterday though. I drove up the unit to work on the Dolly and when I jumped in the metro to go home I couldn't get any gears. Clutch pedal feels fine, put new seals on and bled it anyway, but will only go into gear with the engine off. I drove through a massive flood that was almost deeper than the wheels about 2 minutes before I got to the unit. Related?

dude i have 2 metro wheels the same as your with extremely goog metric tyres! they are michalins i think, if you can pop up to coventry you can have the pair for a £10, seriously the tyres are superb!!!!
your metro defo looks loads better on the stock steels lowered!!!!!
the rims on mine are in need of a good rubb down n repaint but you could swap the tyres onto your rims!
nice metro bud!

Got some goodies Also on the shopping list is a 12G295 head and 1.3:1 Roller tip rockers. Just gone onto 3 days at work and am saving for a month in the states, so might be a while till I get round to fitting this lot and getting it rolling roaded.

Woohoo, an update, I'd almost forgotten about this little beastie.
I hope you'll go catch some short track oval racing whilst you're across the pond, puts anything the UK has to shame.

In the process of buying a 1990 Austin Metro with 28k on the clock - I thought I was lucky getting one with so little miles until I saw yours. I think you should invest in renting a garage though by the looks of it!!

Lovely Metty. Mine had 26k on it when I bought it and just clocked up to 28k last week. Any car with a milage as low as yours will upset the purists if it's used, but they may also be pleased to see one out and about on the roads. Loads of people have said 'I used to have one of those' to the point where it's almost to the same level of my old mini.
I'm planning to pop a turbo engine in mine and create a street sleeper along the lines of Slater's. It's good to see yours lowered on steelies/skinnies and with alloys/slightly lower as I'm weighing up which way to go myself.
Was the exhaust you fitted a Maniflow one? Also unless I've missed it in the thread, are you rinning a 998 or 1275?

Hi mate,
Yeah, exhaust is a maniflow one, sounds quite nice. It is a 998, and after driving my 659cc Turbo Daihatsu, feels dead slow! I'm hoping to get it out again as soon as the weather gets better.
