Isn't it just?? they always are. I'm not really into them but i always have to look at threads posted about them. i love the way some owners have latched onto a/c vw mods, and some have used hot rod cues, which actually look as good on a citroen. i will never own one, but i will keep checking out the pics.

The height is controlled by adjustable tie rods, as the bizarre suspension system uses horizontal springs which lie under the floor and the springs are linked to by the afore-mentioned tie-bars.
However, 2CV springs are very soft so you really need beefier springs to carry it off properly - witness the ongoing Ami 6 break project in the Readers Rides section.

Ahh, I see. Knew it was an unusual set up but that explains it nicely. Had a skeg through the Ami Brake thread yesterday, I'll go and have an in depth read now. Thanks for that.

What is this? Its OOOOFFFF-worthy. This is a Bijou, the only Citroen designed and built in the UK. It has a fibreglass shell styled by Peter Kirwan-Taylor - who did the original Lotus Elite - and used 425cc 2CV running gear and chassis. As it was heavier than a standard Deuche, it was not quick... 213 were made at Slough in the early 60s, and about half survive. The one in the photo was owned by 2CV specialist and racer Geoff Archer, and in this guise is essentially a racer for the road with a 610cc engine. The car has since been returned to standard and sold on. </anorak>

Vote for thread of the Week/Month.
There are some awesome 2CV's out there, and their owners always seem to have a disproportionate amount of fun with them.

whats the deal with the rear quarter window on some and not on the others? without the extra window it looks a lot nicer imo.
also whats it like to drive one of them? good enough to keep up with traffic easily?

Everytime these threads pop up I get all swept up into wanting one!! Alas I fear it may never happen Same here. Honestly, you lot are a bad influence - my mate sends me a link to some BMW 8-series on ebay that he's lusting over and I send him one back to a 2CV/Triumph Acclaim/Allegro estate that I'm lusting over. Weirdos ;D

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in
