How do you top such an awesome weekend?
I reckon a full on, tuxed up, posh as you like saturday night barbeque could be fun.
Also depending on the location, try and get some racing car displays there. Even if they're static displays (but with engine starts etc) it would be pretty interesting. The frogeye sprite and SD1 were great but i'd have loved to have seen more.

Yeah we didn't do any 'invite' cars this year, just wanted it to be a bit easier than last year. A base to build on. Keith and I have only had a quick discussion about 'the future' .. we were really happy with this years show, and frankly if we did a carbon copy of it next year I think it would be great fun again. However you always want to move forwards and improve, so we'll see where we end up over the next few months and fill you in when we have details... you may get a few questions/polls on here as well.

What about a mass fire-up and revving session at 2pm dead on the showfield? Like a Retro Rides equivalent of the Cacklefest

I liked the mix of show and museum,it worked very well plus it was a fantastic drive there using the A and B roads. So much so I would have driven there both days just for the buzz of the journey.......or maybe it was the oil fumes. Anyway, maybe another similar site, like Brooklands, could be used another year. For a bit of excitement there could be timed runs up their hill. Have you seen how stupidly steep that is? Or imagine a selection of cars lined up on the banking for some photos.Stunning imho.

I may be in a minority of one but I'm more interested in car based activities than a booze up or black tie gala dinner or whatever. I enjoyed RR07 because of the track and pit activity and so forth.
So "what next for '09?" I'd say some driving games, a portable rolling road, a decent bit of track to play one, some "quality/invite" cars either as display or for exhibition runs...

i tell you what the one thing i reckon i need to do - improve my game. seeing those photos you guys have taken makes me think... "hold on, i would have been royally shamed this year!" the standard looks to have been amazing - well done chaps! and so my aim would be to have something more worthy next time round... and not to miss another

I couldn't make this years as I was in Cornwall having sex - kinda gutted, kinda not hahaha. Anyway, I loved doing/seeing a bit of track action at RR07, so I think that was a must. I also love mallory.. see where I'm going here? But as others have said, I trust the judgement of Hotwire and co, things seem to work

Firstly, well done Topi on losing your cherry!
Secondly, i couldnt make this year's show as distance and cost were stacked against it. Therefore i cant judge on this year's event but i thought last year's was excellent. The Saturday had loads with the show and shine affair plus the great track action. Sunday had more of the same. It was nice that i wasn't all static
My two-pence, that's all
ps, i'm booking my ferry and time off now so I'm guessing anywhere between july and september?
