2) paint the bumpers the right colour!
3) fit CB its literally thrown in but it works
4) tidy up rear strip out job
5) load up and haul out!

so just gotta put my camping gear in, helmets, docs etc and see you guys tomorrow

Right, on the campsite, thought Id crack on with something Ive been meaning to do for ages. Wanted to do something with my rear lights, I usually tint them red, but the design of the senator lights makes this tricky as they have matt black lines running through them horizontally! and tinting spray makes stuff gloss.

Only one thing for it..... masking time!

Well after Tigran's lightweight question it reminded me Ive got a lot of weight to get out of this ere bus. So its on a diet next. Already failed to fit a manual winder to the front mech..... don't know what I did wrong! But yes will post some pics later of weigh reduction

Short term plans:-
-Change gearbox for one with all its synchros
-fit lightweight flywheel in the process and replace chirpy release bearing
-sort prop centre bush out - its toast
-lower front somehow!
-sump guard
-extreme diet
-hydro handbrake

Mid term:-
-new paint job. Already got the next one planned. And the one after!
-welded diff

Long term plans:-
-roll cage
-turbo
-el stupido exhaust (not telling anyone yet hhahaha but its class. Well I think so!)

Ive got hold of a supra turbo from Benzboy, which is from a 3 litre and apparently good for about 300bhp worth of air IIRC so should be well sized. Think the gearbox is going to cry well before that! haha. Also got an (un)suitable intercooler. Just need to save up for megasquirt and then get fabbing. I can reduced the compression by modding the head. I'm thinking of building up the spare engine Ive got as the turbo engine as I'm pretty sure the bottom end on this one is toast. Will make a turbo adapter from the current manifolds. Lots of little things in my head but its all miles and miles off!

Actually.... whats blue smoke under power mean I forget?! and no not from the tyres! LOL


had a quick go at one of the rear doors today. Removed a lot of the inner skin, window mech, inner door tar pad and saved 3.6kg's

So with both done thatll be 7.2kgs

Before the gathering when I 'tidied up' the stripping I got about 6.2kgs out of the car.

So in total an extra 13.4kgs (when both rear doors are done)

Plenty more to go though!

Have you perspexed the windows yet dude? Can't remember! Also have you removed all the foam from the bumpers and stuff?

yeah no perspex yet, and the bumper irons have to bite the dust too. And the dash. And most of the wiring. And and and. I cant even say I havent got enough time LOL.

Lewis, squish area will be gone, helps reduce det and also reduces compression ratio. Apparently. Those Singh grooves are supposed to work wonders on NA cars, havent seen much testing on forced induction yet although I think djivesp is running some on his turbo kadett.

Exhaust is secret due to me not knowing EXACTLY how I'm going to implement it yet (I may have to have a roll cage first, if that tells you anything!). Gah, so many ideas in my head for this car! Just a matter of making them work!

valve stems or rings huh? hmmmm anyone know a way of testing which is might be? hope its stem seals as Id be changing the head! Should do a compression test really.

hahahah heated cage. no.

Reminds me though I need some heated elements for the heated buckets!
