So last week I nipped up to Sheffield to get some wheels off Kee for a car I probably don't even own. There were two good things - 1: I was in the area for work and 2: Mrs Akku didn't find out. So at the weekend I'm having a wee tidy of some wheels which were clogging up work area in the garage and she comes home half way through and finds two sets of rimZ in the kitchen. Cue the "why do you need more wheels than you have cars? and "I bet its 20 years before some of your junk is even back on the road" etc. I tried to explain wheels are like shoes for cars (and those US 5 spokes are the Jimmy Choo of the collection) but she won't have any of it. So Tuesday morning (I think it was tuesday anyway) abotu 7:45 I get a phone call. Me: Uhhlo Kev: its Kev from wales off the forum mate Mrs: who's that? You're not buying any cars... Kev: hope you don;t mnd, those wheels we were talking about, I just put them in your garden as I was passing anyway like. Me: Ah! Kev: sort me out about money or whatever later if you want them Mrs: why are there MORE wheels in our garden? Kev, I love you. Em please forgive me I will keep sinning. odd Regal rims. Luckily she doesn't ever venture into the garage or the attic. As this is what she would find. Keep it fairly tidy from the outside Messy How am I supposed to work on any shizzle? When its piled up with junk Slots Dead cars Mo rimz Cal 500s lone slot This is an in car coffee maker kit. Veee Eight.... Rimz in da kitchin wat am I ganna do? Attic tat Bangin' ICE (IAE?) 'Slots of slots More More (and more under the covers) Rare-o Mk3 Savage wheels, apparently Slots and tat Slots and spokes Mo slots the other pair of that set with a nicely boxed up tat collection Shelves of tat Savage 500 wheel trims?? Not quite Somreros Misc trims Slots and old car radios etc Mo tat. Note the broad range of cars - some I don't even own. Mag wheels and part of the spot light collection.... More mags hiding away.... the other kind of mags And I just had a HUGE clear out of magazines too. So come on, I'm no way the worst am I? confession is good for the soul. Step 1 - admit you have a problem...

And only a year or 18 months ago I sold off that much tat from my attic that the guy had to come twice with a Volvo estate and a trailer!
Aye, tat ruleZ

Next time I visit Akku towers I might just bring some Seth-tat with and pop it somewhere while you're not looking. Would save me storing it and I doubt you'd notice!

I don't think you have a problem at all. Some good photo's and there is nothing wrong with car parts in the house.

No car partsin the "living areas". attic is to the brim though! In the old days, before I was married (or even cohabbitting) I had car parts everywhere, a garage full and at one point 4 or 5 lockups full of tat.
This is low key, reformed style.
At one point people I knew used to shove stuff in my boot when I was round theirs to get rid, and I did similar to others "of the faith". some cool stuff got moved about in that way. car parts, radios, stereos, all sorts.

One day I will own a farm or something. And I will disappear into the barn and won't be seen for 3 years.

Dude I think you might actually have a wheel problem. Have you got a close up of the bird's tits on the front of Custom Car? I like stuff like that.

you know, the other night I sat down and started making a list of every company that had ever made slot mags, to see what kind of a job I'd have on to own a set of each...
And then widened the scope to 5 spokes, Magnums, Rostyles, etc.
And then I sketched up a modular storage thing to fit in the eve space of the garage to hold them.
And then I gave up 'cos I thought that might be odd obsessive behaviour.
I'd get a shot of the Bristols for you.

Wow, and I thought I was bad. The scrap man laughed at me today for pulling a buckled ATS cup out of the scrap pile as I could use it for hanging an airline up on and that I wouldn't use a steel as it - the ATS Cup, that is - matched the wheels on my Golf. ;D

I thought I had tat... But it appears I am but a rank amateur. Only trouble is we need to move pretty sharpish and I can't see us finding an affordable place with the tat storage of our present abode (basically a small bungalow built over a huge garage) Edit: And this is AFTER needing a good size Merc van to take a load of stuff autojumbling last year, and weighing a load more stuff in.
