Yeah blue was rusty as hell, spent an hour on it though and combined with best of spare parts from the red one, we get: Bearings needed massive dollops of grease but run nice now. Left the chain cover on this one so far. May still strip and paint again.

I don't suppose it would take long to derust such a small bike Ive got 20" rear wheel and a 26" front wheel on my Raleigh Panache Mixte. The cranks are SR from a Raleigh Pioneer. Has a smoked plastic cover over the 2 rings. There 170mm I think. About the same as what it had. I got the frame from the scrap yard. In a van load of bikes I got for £20 Sold a couple of the bikes for £20 each. So free bikes. I got another Mixte, at a sale at the village hall. Was £5. Rode it home. Is a Torino. So will have to be red with a white stripe. Starsky and hutch. The Steel wheels were knackered. I fitted Alloy 700c wheels. But the rear was given to me by a customer at work. As would cost to much to fix. I put a new axle and a few spokes in it. But still breaks spokes. GRR.

Mixte's are notoriously cheap 2nd hand as most women don't even want them nowadays (my GF asked me to get her a mens frame instead - also modern ladies frames just have a sloping top tube instead) and most blokes don't either. But they're still great bikes (I'd have no trouble riding one if they made them in my size). Great for chopping too if thats your bag.
