Bored with the fold up bike with massive 10" wheels so fancied something even smaller, scored this today: So funny to watch people riding it! Gonna repaint and then undecided. Plan A is fit a full size front whell for a penny farthing look, either still driving the back wheel or mount pedals on the front. Plan B - fit the biggest back wheel I can (maybe 10") as if I junk the rear shock and hard tail there is a fair bit of room to play with.

Nice buy! I had one but the chain are useless!

Putting a big wheel on the front would be cool, but making pedals drive the front wheel would be a nightmare if using normal bike forks on it - I'd put a bigger front wheel on and maintain drive with the chain, just make sure you leave room for the pedals to go round!

I pulled one from the river.
used bits of the shock on a mountain bike.
the steering head was oversized. so not all forks will fit it. have to get a complete one and mess with it

Steering head oversized? Hmm will look into that. May go for a bigger backwheel then for a dragster look! Will have a looksy and see what the skip turns up as inspiration. Have one of those kids micro push along scooter things, all alu so will provide better handlebar if I can make them fit.

i'd cut the rear stays off something complete with sprocket and pedals and use that to make a set of FWD forks i reckon.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

How bout swaping the rear wheel for a big one and then swap the Saddle and the handle bars. Steer with your fwd micro bike!! Spinning the wheel and pedals so they're on the otherside of the bike would keep the free wheel feature would it not??? Just a thought...

been looking for one of those bikes on ebay. cant find one. whats the name on it? the one I found had cosmetic issues as was in the river.
Also you can fit normal forks to oversized headstocks if you use the headset from old Raleighs. Burners from 80s. Some MTBs like the Mustangs too.
But lots of bikes have oversized headsets now. So you can fit BMX or MTB forks that oversized.

No idea on the name, the side has "The Original 'Mini' Bike" stickets on it, the front one has perished.
I've found some spare bits of one of those full size stand on scooter thinks that seem to fit (not the ickle fold up ones, one of those big semi-bmx type scootors).

had some of those bmx type scooters.
modded one for 16" wheels instead of 12". Still got a load of wheels from them
Some small bikes use the same wheels so there are rears wheels with fixed cogs or freewheels. nearly bought a bike a couple of weeks ago. It had purple 3 spoke mags on freewheel. looked ok.

Well spent some time on it, stripped, rebuilt, red oxide as I had it. Fitted different sadle and tried to get as close to the money bar look as I could with some old BMX stuff. Was tempted to try and fit the handlebars off one of those push scooters but they were too small for the frame. Also scored a BMX bent seat post but again too small. Test fitted a kids bike back wheel. It fits in diameter but is a bit too wide, rub on the frame, needs a skinny tyre and then do away with rear suspension and fit two struts or similar. Proof it's rideable, although best if you get a long flat!

looks good in red primer maybe fit the whole stem from the silver scooter, as it goes over the steerer tube on the forks. Not inside it.
the seat post size on most older BMX was 22.2mm. Or 7/8" diameter. Your bike looks like it has the pretty common size of 25.4mm. Or 1" diameter. Thats quite a long seat post youve got there.
Is the same story with the forks. Your bike looks like it has the 25.4mm, or 1" diameter quill tube. BMXs used 21.1mm. Or 3/4" diameter. Also a lot of cheap american bikes and some cheap MTBs used that size. It was more common for bikes to have a quill tube of 22.2mm diameter.
Its likely that your fork steerer tube external diameter is 28.6mm. Or 1 1/8" This is the common size of Aheadset forks. So you can use modern stems that are that type. You can use aheadset forks too. As long as you fit the Aheadset too.

Well thanks, you are a wealth of knowledge! Mates came over this evening and we proceeded to stunt the bike, well as much as you can with ickle wheels. Felt like that simpsons episode with Crusty riding the bike for the Mafia.

Mini update, found the handlebar stem off a fold up scooter fits as a seat stem, alu so lighter, fitted a kids bike seat as I could drill it to fit.
