Hi Guys,
I'm new here so go easy on me ;D
Here are some pix/details of my 1983 Mk5 Cortina 2.1 GLS which I have owned since early 1996.
The car is a Cardinal Red, March 1983 registered GLS model with factory fitted Recaro seats. It is in fact the newest surviving UK GLS spec model still on the road. The car was registered some 4 months after the Sierras were introduced and was a very late reg Cortina.
The car was featured in Fast Ford Magazine in Aug 93 and Feb 94 as well as Classic Ford and a couple of other mags.
I bought the car from a vrey good friend of mine and set about modifying to my personal spec.
Jary in 1995
The car was running a 2.1 litre Pinto lump and as soon as I got the car, I lowered it by 35mm, fitted deep dished Mexico steels and a leary exhaust
By 1998, the car had RS 4 Spokes and a Granada Front spoiler
In 2001, I fitted a set of Twin 45s Dellhortos and the car took on a new persona.
By 2006, the car had clear front indicators and was semi retired due to my acquistion of a 3dr Cosworth back in 2002.
Future plans for the car include new suspension, polybushing and brake upgrades.
